G- Don't worry about it, I make typing mistakes quite often!

M- I guess I'll have to keep ranting in my intro thread, then.

I learned recently that a couple I know is raising their child without diapers. They read somewhere that in some cultures the parents learn when the child needs to go at which time they bring the child to an appropriate chamber pot, toilet or other such vessel. I suppose this is seen as a way to ecologically handle a baby.

My father and I were in hysterics over this:

Child: "coo coo coo!"
Parent: "time to pee."

Child: "ook ook ook!"
Parent: "time to poop."

Seems like a good place to rant if you ask me!

Un-nappy-ed baby?!?! ooohhh that could be tragic!

though i think any baby that says ook has read too much Terry Pratchet! ....or maybe that's me

off to make dinner... *walks off singing "hey ho, hey ho, its off to work we go..."*

Just got back to NY from Pennsic this evening.

It was great fun, though I only did spinning one evening.

Lots of mud the first week and lots of hot weather the second.

The parties were fun, the fireworks amazing and the whole experience just....Pennsic.

Pennsic always seems like way too short a period of time.
2 weeks isn't enough of an environment where I feel much more like myself..the clothes, the attitude..it all is wonderful.
Its the only place where I enjoy going to parties and that is monumental.

Another whole year to go before Pennsic rolls around again..

Had to pop in and say Hi cos I saw that you live(lived?) in Paris and the thought of spinning on the quais made me smile muchly.

Got a bit confused by the Pennsic references above, so went and had a peek at the site... wow! looks very cool. I've always wanted to try jousting... but got to thinking that the horses might not enjoy it very much!

So, I wanted to ask, are there regular poi meets in Paris at a specific location? If so, I will try and get there next time I am over!

When the weather is nice there are regular, or semi-regular spinning meets in Paris.
Since I have been away for the past month the location may have changed, though.

Best thing to do is to contact myself or Nomad when you think you'll be coming into town.

I just got back to Paris this morning, so am dealing with the jetlag. Yuck!

What size flags do you twirl for your events.
We have been trying war of the rosed types and its heaps of fun.
Still getting the hang of tossing them back and forth without hitting bystanders who walk into the path of the banner.

Is it the Truth?
Is it Fair to all concerned?
Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Spinning with Nomad and Ahmal is inspiring.

I see how much more there is for me to learn, even in the short term.

It has been an interesting few weeks for me.

It has become clear to me that while whatever has happened to you over the course of your life, whatever you have experienced, it is wrong to blame anyone else for who and what you are today.

It is way too easy to play the blame game and the reality is that we are all victims as long as we permit ourselves to remain passive to the forces that we come into contact with.

Victims of Society?
Victims of Circumstance?

These things DO exist, but for most of us its just a cop out.

I could blame tens of people for making me into who I am, but I think I have done enough of that already.

I am as I make myself out to be.

The ultimate choice is mine.

This is a blast from the past since I haven't posted on this site in 3 years.

I miss spinning poi and I miss the great people I used to spin with when I lived in Paris.

Now I need to meet firefolk in the NYC area and renew my relationship with the fire.

So, hi everybody!
