This is where I will be posting links to all of my videos from now on. Right click and save as on the links below to download the file. Most if not all my files are encoded with DivX so if you dont have the DivX codec, please visit www.divx.com/divx for a free download.

MikeSpin.avi

This is just a short video I took to show my cousin. I originally wasnt going to post it but figured why not. Nothing fancy here, no special graphics, neato scene transitions, or even a music track. Just a few demo moves... And it was about 20 degrees out so they dont even look that great rolleyes

--13.8MB--DivX Encoded--

spinfinal.avi

My first ever poi video. Its really dark as it was my first time using the camera and such. Kinda short also but should still be a fun watch once or twice.

--3MB--DivX Encoded--

buzzweave.avi

Just a short tutorial on how to do a buzzsaw weave.

--2.5MB--DivX Encoded--

DynamikDysfunktion.avi

So the weather round here has been beginning to warm up. That means my poi and I are too. Tonight I brought out my poi for my first burn of the new year and this is the footage. My best vid to date but thats not really saying much. Im a bit rusty but its a small taste of things to come. Also, making his debut is my friend Stan who shows off his hair singing skills starting at 3:34 smile Enjoy.

--21MB--DivX Encoded--

OneOfThoseBurns.avi

Its starting to get hotter out and the poi arent helpin. Its about time I made a new video. Been wanting to for the past week or two now but managed to forget repeatedly. I finally was able to catch myself on film last night and got it edited in time for work smile Nothing too spectacular, but a few nice moves in there. Hope yall enjoy.

--11.6MB--DivX Encoded--

FireTastesGood.avi

Today I learnt to eat fire and here are the results of about a half hours practice.

-- 4.2MB -- DivX Encoded --

paintedbride.avi

Some older footage that I finally got around to editing. Some members from the Philadelphia Fire Arts Association met at the Painted Bride Art festival to display their work. This is a short summary of the fun we had that day.

-- 24.4MB -- DivX Encoded --

Decomhilights.wmv

This is some footage I took at the Burning Man '04 decompression party in New York featuring the death defying fire plate spinning of Mr. NYC. Please, dont ask about the music... I didnt edit this one ubblol

-- 9.76MB -- WMV Encoded --

gwbhilitez.avi

More footage from NY in '04. This one took place under the George Washington Bridge during some illegal psy party heh. The footage itself was taken by Skunk and its *very* shaky (note to self: do not use Skunks as tripods), but, I really like some of the stuff that can almost be seen in this vid. I was having a blast that night and decided to share my hilights!

-- 10.2MB -- DivX Encoded --

fireskate.mpg

My first attempt at spinning fire on roller skates taken at NY Decompression '05. Also some footage of Reagan fire hooping.

-- 20MB -- MPEG Encoded --

::BREATHING IN BOSTON::

At the end of March I taught a poi workshop at Brandeis college in Massachusetts. Later, after the workshop, Chad Bennett had a little fire gathering at his new house in Salem. Blue Haired Sarah and I decided to try some fire breathing passes and I put on a little show for the folks as well. I had someone use my camera to film it and I'm finally getting it out on the net. Its not much of a performance, but there are a few decent tricks in here. Enjoy!

Thanks to fNi for hooking me up with the workshop gig, to Chad for hosting the jam, to Sarah for breathing with me, and to the dude (whoever you are) that worked my camera.

ur videos are definately becoming higher quality, the day time twirling with fire was awesome as it was really easy to see what was happening, lots of nice poi moves in there.

just a little constructive criticism (i know u want it i read ur post on poiinthepark smile) as far as the editing side of things goes, firstly get a tripod, secondly its cool u have video of ur buddy twirling but putting tangles n untangles i personally wouldnt add that unless its a bloopers vid. i would have cut quite a few bits (like there are bits of just swinging circles on either side) and i would have spliced ur twirl with ur friends so that u have one set of u one of him rather than all ur sets then all his. i would also add a title n ur name on it so that ppl know whos vid it is after all uv gone to all the effort of making it u may as well let ppl know who did it.

By the way, what's the title of that song? I know (or at least, I think I know) it is by Radiohead, but I'm not sure what it's called.

I have a tripod, just didnt use it for this vid. The clip of my friend is actually mixed in with mine. He only has one clip of him doing the weave. It ends shortly after he hits himself in the head and burns his hair. I do another set right after that (the buzzsaw stuff). My original plan for the video was to add some text at certain places which is why its edited the way it is... But it was late at night when I started and I ended up not feeling like doing it. Once Im truly happy with my spinning skills on video Ill be making better quality vids. These have just been somewhat half-assed attempts to get my footage online.

And to Millenium, the song is Backdrifts by Radiohead.

Changed the flame1.avi a bit. I added a real title (Dynamik Dysfunktion) and made it a tad smaller (21MB instead of 26MB).

Feel free to swipe whatever ya want. Pretty much anything I do (with a very few exceptions) has been stolen/copied/shamelessly yoinked from someone else and in return I expect anything I put on the net to be treated in the same manner. Its the way of poi smile

ICoN, awesome video (DynamikDysfunktion)! You look at some points in the video like you're doing liquid moves.. do you dance liquid too? I've been trying to work out some moves with arm waves and stuff.. very nice spinning. Love the daytime stuff too, I like spinning just at that hour when the sun almost sets. The greatest footage can be had at that point.

hey man... just watched that vid too. there's some really nice ideas in there + i like the way your hands seem to stay on your hips doing your waist reels. works well filming in dusk before night because we can actually see what you're doing and then get the lightshow after... nice one! biggrin

Yeah, I used to do liquid before getting into poi. Still bust some out every now and then. I been more trying to work some liquidesque foot work in there. Good eye though heXus.

I also like spinning/filming at dusk. I learned that when I made that video. It just seems like perfect conditions. Only problem is, that time of day doesnt last long. Ya got bout an hour of good lighting per day.
