I just clicked the link and the site happily informed me that the Geek Test is today, 6 years old. so that's nice for it.

i didn't do the test yet, i just absorbed that information and closed the window, but another site once told me I was cooler than Michael J. Fox, so i'll stick with that knowledge for the time being.

if it makes no sense that's because it's NOn-sense.

Only 37.08087% . . . I find that surprising, especially for someone who was told they were a geek by a biophysical chemistry lecturer . . . . at a party. Something to aspire to, I guess . . .

You can't get much more geeky than looking the stuff up.

It's just a G3 AIO motherboard, and I've got 4 working CPUs for it. Been trying to get a working G3 B&W together for a webserver, so I've got a lot of bits (the AIO board came with a CPU I needed to test my B&W mobo). I can't get it to reliably find the boot disk though, and it crashes a lot while booting. Should probably try some differnt memory/a better PSU. Tried with IDE and SCSI but the only thing that'll boot consistently is the CD, athough I've managed to get 9.2 on it and I've got it to start booting from XPostFacto to put OSX on.

I hate pre openboot Macs and < OSX. It's all very well keeping things simple, but it's nice to know what happening when things go wrong.

How's this for geekiness? I'm only going to Falmouth because the guy I tried to buy an eMac from managed to delete some system files along with his personal stuff, and refused to sell me a computer that wouldn't boot, after apple charged him £35 to say there might be a problem with the boot files, or the disk may need replacing at an apple authorised repair shop (£50 disk and £50 to fit it), so I had £200 and the need to do something to take my mind of the loss. Was really looking forward to overclocking that eMac.

I did artificial intelligence for my GCSE Computer Studies coursework (worth 30%). None of the teachers understood it or believed that I hadn't copied it from somewhere, so I lost all my coursework mark. I still got a C because I got 100% on the exams biggrin Those teachers are why I decided to do fishkeeping when I left high school. I tried getting back into C.S. education at 21, and dropped out with the same opinion of the people teaching. Wish I'd been born in New England 18 years earlier frown

I think mine would definately be lower if I had a job. Less time to devote to the complexities of assemlby language and Beowulf clusters.

I'd say HoPpers are the only thing stopping me from going beyond dysfunctional, and sitting in front of a computer 24/7. The only times I've left the house with the intention of meeting people this year are:

Falmouth 5
BJC
Play
Workhouse Festival
Trips to Froggy's house
2 parties in Malvern from the events section.

So basically the only thing that gets me out of the house is meeting HoPpers or doing poi biggrin
