From the Roman name Patricius, which meant "nobleman" in Latin.
A 5th-century saint, the patron saint of Ireland, adopted this name (his birth name was Sucat). During his youth he was captured by Irish raiders and enslaved, but after six years of servitude he escaped to his home in Britain.
Eventually he became a bishop and went back to Ireland as a missionary, where he succeeded in Christianizing the entire country.

If you pronounce "noble" in olde english...it actually comes out as

weapons training has been put on hold...i have so much work to do during the marching band season that i'm up past 1 am doing all my homework... >_< i bearly have time to practice staff.... but as for the kendo school, i'm eventually gonna find out if there really is a school in the next town. if not, i'll have to wait about 2 years... >_<
