Ahhh....beeeeen toooooooo long.

I'm kept too busy to check this thing at work, and we've been pretty busy when I haven't been working, what with snowboarding, spinning, juggling, adventures, and such?

OOOH, and I've got a sexy new mountain bike. Woooohooo!

It's black and deep red, with black flames interlacing the two colors.

Hahahaha.... for the more technical version of the last 2 lines of Spitfire's post...

She has a new bike. It's a Specialized Hardrock Comp, with Marzocchi comp forks, and front and back (cable pull) discs. It's a 2005 model, with what seems to be a pretty unique paint job on it.
It's sweeeeet! smile (but not as nice as my baby! tongue )

*dusts off the old thread* So this may be a temporary dusting.....this thing tends to get lost in the pile of intro threads quite easily.

ANYway....so, I leave for the UK in a week and a half to meet up with the lovely Mand. After a ten day stay, we come back to Calgary for two weeks, then Burning Man, where we'll get to meet quite a few HoP-types....

On a completely different note: Spinning

I've not posted spinning progress in a while....I'm a slow learner when it comes to some things, BUT.....

bounce I finally managed to get behind the back forward weaves. I've had btb reverse for a while, but forward...it felt like I couldn't quite stretch or bend enough, but I've got it. It's not super clean yet, but I can maintain it.

Now...I just need to learn to turn.

Air wraps...I've got them, though my planes tend to go wonky on me after the forth one or so, and I can't seem to do one after another...I have to put a beat in between. Ah well.

One tangle leads to another: Hyperloops....again, I've got them, but not as clean or consistent as I'd like.

Mand's gotten to the point where she can turn 360 while doing hyperloops and air wraps...looks good....if I can get as clean and consistent as her, I'll be happy.

I might actually spin tonight...haven't spun since Mand left for the UK....but I just got a vision for a move, and since I have to get ready for work soon, I can't really give it a try just yet.

OK...off to start a busy busy day.

Writer's block is a curse
when you've got an itch
to write a verse

Thrice today I've wanted to say
something in some poetic way
Alas, I'm stopped at the pass

Now I'm blessed
by weak rhymes
I confess and leave you with this mess!

In exactly one week, one hour and twelve minutes from now, I will take off from Calgary airport, and head to London Gatwick, with a stop in Edmonton along the way.

I get into London at 9 am, which is 2 am Calgary time. I leave London at around one in the afternoon, and arrive in Newcastle around 2 or so, which is 7 am Calgary time. . .and....I get to see the lovely Mand when I get off the plane. biggrin

Sixteen hours of traveling in all, and worth every second of it!

Eight more days until I arrive!

THAT's MY BIKE! With disk breaks, of course.

The picture doesn't do the paint job justice. The black goes into flames into the deep red. It's Purrrrrty.

She was gentle enough with me to get me back into the sport after my accident, and tough enough to handle the hardest of trails.
She's beautiful and pretty and, like any good woman, leaves your ass just slightly sore for rest of the day. smile

Speaking about sore arses.. I took a bit of a break from cycling (haven't cycled at all since I started working full time! Except yesterday and the day before.. it's been around 4 months!) It's sorer than ever today, even sitting on a padded swivel chair.. Can't say a good woman's made my bum sore before.. maybe I'm not doing it right ubblol..

The beer after work is counter-productive to me cleaning.

So here I sit...getting the urge/desire/energy up to clean.
