i figured i better give a general update of my life....



i handed in my draft thesis last week, and have so far recieved generally good feedback. i still have a long way to go, and also need to complete some side projects.



my time at work in newcastle has finished, and im moving back home to sydney this saturday. there are sooo many friends that a need to catch up with.



my final thesis and addtional projects are due 18th july [?] i think, so ill be working pretty solidly up to that point. then i have 1 week off before semester 2 begins.



to be honest, im absolutely exhausted. its easy to survive with relatively little sleep for a while, but over a couple of months it really starts to take its toll.

about 3 weeks ago i had to stop exercising because i simply didnt have the energy.... *sigh* ive already losing muscle tone... oh well. all done soon.



ive spent a fair amount of time over recent years running a few youth leadership type camps - which have given me perhaps the most rewarding experiences of my life. i stepped back from that this year because i had moved on from this particular camp, however another opportunity has come up that i cant refuse.

So next week im a mentor at the Australian National Youth Leadership Camp, for about 200 highschool kids from around the country. it will be challenging at times .... but im really looking forward to it.

it will be additionally tough because ill be working on my thesis at night, but i feel it the right decision. i need this to relax. i tend to relax by doing completely different things, rather than sitting at home doing nothing.



im searching around for general graduate employment at the moment, but feeling particularly unmotivated. ill probably go travelling for a month at the end of the year - im thinking of travelling to thailand and do a thai massage course or something like that. or maybe ill buy a cheap car and do a roadtrip around australia... theres lots of people id like to visit.



i was chatting to mum the other day, and she did comment that ive changed since moving out, i just seem - a bit more at peace with myself. that describes everything quite well. moving away, into a new city and realising how easy it is to make new friends, make a new life - being completely open with no skeletons in the closet.... and perhaps writing for fun - for the first time in my life, writing about past experiences and emotions i hadnt really approached before. it really allow me to place my life in perspective... of where i am now.

now ive finished that, and im moving back to world i belong to, the world of my closest friends and family back in sydney.

im considering squeezing in a week long meditation retreat sometime. i feel that im ready.



so overall, im happy. everything finally seems to be coming together, and i have a fair idea where im headed.
