i was a bit disappointed that there was no hobo information sharing. i actually asked flynt if the hobo workshop went ahead to which she replied "no, bender was in the massage workshop. yeah, right next to you in fact. geez i didn't even go and i know that." did i mention my awesome powers of observation?

you'll have to strike that last name off the list frown i'm too busy saving my precious pennies for my trip to SE asia.

buuut since you are going, can you do me a favour? friend A's fire toys were borrowed by friend B and taken to common ground, and friend B asumed that i had taken them back to melbourne when really they were still in adelaide, and friend A is none too happy. could you get said toys from Josh at earthcore and pass them on to me so i can pass them onto friend A?

do you think you can? pweeese? smile you'll get some sort of gratitude gift if you do.

hello oldskool hoppers!! how is youse?
cass, i hope you are enjoying a super dooper amount of massage work...
and Mike, i think u need to be sent to the sin bin for the hanson reference!!

spent a lovely weekend at a folk festival...
Well, FRL was the 10th such music festival on Bilyana, a lush bush property that had a swimming gorge, separate creeks, a beautiful bush camping area that incorporates a sacred area that used to be reserved for koori women's ceremonies (apparently the area is shaped like a pregnant woman from the air)

80+ aussie bands split across 3 stages played folk to dub to reggae to ska, gypsy etc. It was largely run by volunteers and retained a very intimate, talkative festival. camping near the creek meant mozzie feeding frenzies.

Musical Highlights were:
Kate Grealy - personal highlight for me, a Wangaratta local with beautiful introspective with spinklings of throughts on asylum seeker rights. i was glad that there were other grealy groupies in the crowd.
Lothlorian - This gypsy ensemble provided an infectiously rokcin atmosphere of fiddletastic choons, had to be pushed into encores at the main stage.
Sam Lohs - A singer from the ace all girl band 'fruit' she was played a very energetic acoustic guitar set that had the whole camp clapping and singing.
Mihi Rangi - A one woman band, she uses a sampler to create soundscapes that her soulfoul voice inhabits beautifully. Her standout track was dedicated to an aboriginal elder that she influenced her at Mythopeia 2004.

Basically half of Melbourne's festival going hippies attended this wonderful gathering and by the end, i think everyone was connected by one level of separation.

also, the fire circle and chai savedmylife!

b*
