I don't undertand this 'watering down' of chocolate with things that aren't chocolate...

Just give some more 2 kilo blocks of dairy milk from The Warehouse, no need for diluting it with other stuff...

But always good to wash it down with feijoa juice... rolleyes

It seems to have been replaced with the "My Stuff" drop down which is always on top of every page - it's faster to find from wherever you are in the forum.

I'm sorry to say that I have not been off to warmer spots at all, so here goes the news.

I was diagnosed with colon cancer in November. By mid November I had my first surgery and had a quarter of my colon removed with a cancer growth the size of an orange. The surgeon said that it was close to bursting.

At the beginning of December the rest of the tests were completed and a colon cancer spot was located in the liver and there were concerns about some spots of my ovary. I was back in surgery 4 weeks after the first one, they burnt the spot in the liver and removed both ovaries and their tubes. Luckily the concerns about the ovaries were not cancerous, which is cool.

I start chemo after I go into surgery, for the third time, to get a port put into my shoulder for the chemo drip. Chemo is going to last for year.

The bright side to all this? I’ve lost over 30 pounds, I don’t have to worry about the “monthly” curse any more, I’m not going to be losing any hair and I’ve been off work with full pay for two months!

Aww, Gidg...hunny, I'm so sorry...I knew you'd been absent, not only from here, but Tribe, as well...but I had no idea the reason why...

I can partly sympathise with you, having gone thru my own bout with cancer, but mine was not nearly as bad...just take care of yourself and if you need an ear to gripe to, I'm here.

Much love and lots and lots of hugs

Thanks Pogo and Bek. It sounds bad but all my doctors are pleased in how things are going. In fact I saw my chemo doctor 10 days after my surgery and she said that I didn' look like I just had surgery. I just have to be careful not to overdue the physical activity. My stomach tells me when I lift more than 5 pounds.

What I'm really looking forward to is getting back into the swimming pool. I'm hoping the my doctor will approve me getting back into the pool.

Swimming would probably be one of the best therapy exercises you could possibly do...with the support of the water you'd not be taxing your body as much as if you were doing other forms of exercise.

Just whatever you do, don't push it too far too fast...recovery of both body and mind takes time...but you'll get there...can't keep a good Gidg down, for long... smile

This last doctor is a kick. He told me that I could do anything I wanted and if it hurt not to do it. I'm released to do what ever I want, which includes going back to work ... like that is going to happen soon. My initial release back to work is the 15th and I'm not going to go back until then. There's a lot of things that I need to get done before I go back to work. Plus getting back into the pool.

Don't worry though, it's going to be a slow buildup because I have had two major surgeries over two months. Each have a full recover time of six weeks.

Moondoggie is taking all of this well. Maybe a little frustrated right now *giggle* but he is holding up. grin

Aww...well, I'm glad you seem to have a supportive sweetheart, albeit a lil frustrated...my ex was anything but supportive to me...so I had to do way too much, way too soon, cuz he had no idea of how to be supportive...he was just an ar*e!!!
