Favorite Author/Book: Ann McCaffrey and the Pern series. My imagination can run wild. I see myself now; fighting thread on the back of a flying fire-breathing dragon, purple of course.

Hey Gidg
I finally bought 'real' pois, fluffy yellow ones on chains. When I feel confident enough I'll buy the fire pois to go on the end of the chains. But the more I read about Fire Safety etc. the more scared I get! But I still want to do it. Don't get enough practice, but with 10 days off coming up I'll get into it more.

Rosie, just remember than when you do finally light up just do those moves that you can do flawlessly with your practice poi. And what do you mean by 'real' poi? Anything that you can spin on the end of a string can be considered 'real' poi.

Rosie it was wonderful, I had the biggest grin on my face the whole time
the noise, the smell, the light. For me the best thing was having people around who were encouraging & experienced so I wasn't scared but healthy respect for burning things, just did the few moves i can do without hitting myself, no heroics. It really is so different with fire- such a buzz.Hope you get to do it soon - New Year present to yourself??

school is a necessary evil. The very strange thing is that once it's all over and done with and you've been working for a while you wish you were back in school.I can't believe it's the new year, just think ... 45 more sleeps and I'm off to OZ!!!!!!
