I've bin poi'in for aboot four months now and when trying to get the five beat chase i managed to do a five beat chase wich incorporated a rap around my once leading arm and then unrapping upon the other side of my body. it seems to work but i have to be spinning my poi pretty fast for them to be able to unrap. any ideas. as i said i'm new and have no one of knowledge to inspire me so i'm kind of making it up as i go along. Posted: well you can wrap any weave around your arms to gain extra beats, it's still just a weave. If you are having trouble doing 5 beats and wrapping by accident, and wrapping your right poi over your left arm as you move to the left of your body, then you need to lock your right wrist into your left wrist and twist your arms over so that your right hand is now further to the right than your left. Then you shouldn't wrap. If the wrists arn't tight enough and you don't twist the arms over enough then you will have troubles getting the extra beat in without wrapping.
