psst...

i love you flynty!

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

i just walked in arsen has been slapped, flynt is being crushed my lots of ppl, and i can see dentrassi asrse, pounces or at least hear pounce giggling, and a few other body parts

and why is valura standing in a corner????

Hey flynty.... I haven't visited you in a while but I'm here now to spread some sparkles and pixie goodness about .:*sprinkle sprinkle*:.

Cass showed me some Funky fluffy leg warmers you gave her! They are SO cool!*:. Becca and I have some a bit like them ...Mine are fluro pink long shagy fur with sparkles in them!*:. and becca's are the same but in fluro blue (and slightly singe...naughty pixie)

Anyway... totally unrelated... just sharing the fluffy goodness*:. Cary on...

Greetings fellow HoPpers

It's about time I did a serious update on the goings, goings and gones of your compadre in Melbourne, so here goes:

So I'm enrolled in Monash Uni, via Correspondance in the subject of Mass Communications. I'll be majoring in Sociology, which I'm pretty excited about as well, basically, People fascinate (and scare) me quite a bit! So I get to discover all about US! and that's just awesome.

I also get to delve into the somewhat complex topic of Media, which is somewhat frightening as it is constantly evolving and adapting and therefore, the methods of study and analysis are also!

One thing I'm learning is how much we base our personal identity on what we absorb and accept as 'truths' from the various forms of media that we are constantly bombarded by! Media being more than just tv and radio and newspapers, it also encompasses books, advertising, films, even playstation games and music! These are all forms of media text's that we are in contact with everyday.

This computer I'm typing at now (good old Bert) is capable of accesses billions of different types of media texts on any subject I could possibly think of! (and zillions more beside!) The scary part is, where do we decide what is 'truth' and what is applicable to our own lives?

First thing I've learnt since starting Media Studies is that there is no such thing as Truth.

A truth in any form (seen, spoken, written, experienced) is a such analysable, interpretable and therefore different for every person that comes across it. If this is true, then there are infinate analysis' of that truth, and therefore it is no longer True.

I like Uni.

I don't like however, not being able to get a hold of my psychology text book as it seems the entire country of Australia has sold out. No, we dont like that at all. I also don't like the way that I panic when I cant get a hold of it, nor the niggly little voice in the back of my head that says "it's ok Flynt, it's only the REST OF YOUR LIFE that you are screwing up..."

Maybe when I do get a hold of my Psych book, I'll be able to understand that and tell that little voice where to go

So other than Uni, let me tell you about Leaning House. The other day I realised that in the almost four months I've lived in Leaning House, I've only actually been here maybe three weeks maximum on my own! WOW that's pretty cool! This house is so peaceful to me. Every room has different carpet/walls/colours, and its a hodgepodge of crazy leaning quirks that I am still discovering, like doors that wont close, or the window in the bathroom that goes to the back room, or that the lino in the entry is the coolest part of the house when you are lying down...

Leaning House also has a beautiful backyard that makes my house a home. I have four apple tree's, two of which have a beautiful sky blue hammock hung up between. Girl floating on Sky, watching Clouds floating on Sky.... One of the other apple tree's has an invisibility machine, one in which if I climb up inside, I can lean back and watch the leaves trace patterns on my skin, and no one can see me at all...

I have also two fig trees, a nectarine out the front, a white peach and an orange tree! I have lots of Kitty Visitors that I give random names to, and sometimes they come sit on my lap and make me itchy... That's always fun. I dont have a washing machine so when the laundry gets too much, I roll up my sleeves and dig into the piles of clothes, one colour at a time, and wring them out and carry them to the clothes line in my Bakers Delight bag, to let them drip drip drip till dry.

Work is interesting.
I have the dilema of being bored brainless, and occasionally earless too, but when the work is busy, I thrive off it! Unfortunately, it's rarely busy, and they refuse to teach me anything more so I could be more efficient. I feel..... wasted there, because I could be doing more and they arent taking advantage of my temping capabilities. Still, they've said they want to keep me on past April now, and don't have a problem with my soon to be dreaded personality.

A rare find I guess. But will the boredom win out? So far no self destructive behaviour to get myself fired, which is always a plus.

Love life: non existant as per the norm no big deal there!!!

anyways, thats a fairly thorough update, probably more that you all wanted to know, but just in case you were wondering why/where/how I've been...

and umm I looked for the book... but unable to find... do they have it on line? I just thought of that possibilty.
