My friend is learning to do this cool new move that a have never seen before. It's a swift and smooth change from backwards to forwards figure 8's without putting the staff behind you or stopping the staff, even for a micromillisecond.

So far i've only seen him go backwards to forwards, but the opposite must also be possible. He starts backwards and then when the staff gets to the side he uses both hands to gently wrestle the staff through a wierd lopsided loop and into forwards figure eights with the opposite hand. It doesn't seem to miss a beat.

Is this a really simple move that i've missed or something new?

i can do simple 90 degree changes, (horizontal to vertical, forwards to sidewards, etc) but a complete reversal is new to me.

PS Check out my friends website. Paul and I operate the site,(when i say operate, he does all the hard stuff cos he knows how to build sites and i chatter inanely on the couch next to him sometimes muttering suggestions. In fact the only thing i designed was the banner, which he then changed a bit again, but it was a good change, looks heaps good methinks), but it has got heaps of vids and photos from all my fire buddies.
