Hello beautiful people!

This is my monthly moon letter that goes out to all the Moon Fest subscribers...

Next Moon Fest is on Sunday 26th May, in the usual spot, in it’s usual lovely way. Thank you everyone for coming along and doing what you do. You are what makes this festival what it is. And thankyou to all our little fairies and will-o-the-wisps and beautiful flutterby dancer Sue, who all created an absolutely beautiful performance in such a short amount of time! Well done!

This Full Moon is the one with the Penumbral Eclipse. “Such an eclipse can go unnoticed. This type of eclipse of the moon occurs when the moon passes through the Earth’s shadow (penumbra). You may observe a shadow across the full Moon at this time. This lunar eclipse will be visible from Australia & New Zealand with Maximum shadow occurring at 22:04 EST” (this quote has been taken from Moon Diary 2002. Visit www.moondiary.com.au for more info or to purchase your own Moon Diary!)

So as the Full Moon disappears behind a mask of shadow, I ask you all to wear a mask of your own for this Moon Fest and then as the Moon Reappears out of the shadow so to, do you reveal your self. So this Month is a Masquerade Moon Fest! Yeay! What Fun!

Now, as I mentioned at Moon Fest…. I’ve been thinking of continuing Moon Fest over Winter (due to popular demand… kee hee hee) but instead of hibernating, we’re going to migrate to the Beacon for a fire. If you were at the Easter (Bluewater) Moon Fest, you would have seen the beacon (a metal sculpture in the shape of fire with a little fire pit in the bottom) that was centre stage to the Bayfire performance. For anyone who doesn’t know where (or what) it is, just head for the wooden jetty. At the foot of the jetty you’ll see this funky new sun dial thing… Head North-West… Or just turn left from the wooden jetty (Sandgate Pier on your street map) as you’re looking out to see. Follow the path round the for-shore about 100 metres or so and you’ll find the beacon, surrounded by a curvy mound, a couple of picnic shelters, (with a stove to cook my Chai Yeay!!!) and all these fire twirlers and drummers ??? (don’t know where they came from? )

So remember, not this month, but next, (not May, but June) we’ll migrate to the beacon for a fire. June, July & August at the Beacon, and then back to the usual spot for Spring Moon Fest in September. Is that cool? Speak now or forever hold your peace.

As you may have noticed, I’ve started a “Magick Moon Fest Moments” in Moon Mag. Collected bits of lovely comments from people, poems, stories, drawings etc. to share that special feeling we get each month when we gather on the beach under the full moon. If you have anything to share, write/email/fax me or post a message in the Magick Moon Fest Moments section of the notice board on the Moon Fest Web page at https://communities.msn.com/moonfest
I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts

Kee Hee... I just saw the animal masks and the Zoo posts together and it looks like we're trying to be a Zoo... For people who don't know the Zoo is a Club in Brizzy and has no connection with this Moon Fest... I kind of made it sound funny with the animal mask Idea ???

For this upcoming Moon Fest, (26th May) the twirlers from our three week course will be creating a performance for the night's festivities. If you'd like to be involved in the performance we'll be having a scramble session from about 5/6pm in the evening of Moon Fest (26th May) And don't forget that it's a Masquerade Moon Fest, so get started with that crafty mask making
