Aw, but you guys already have the European Juggling Convention. Can't we have an American poi gathering this time?

E pluribus unum, baby.

there's generally a decent spattering of poimongers at the british juggling conventions (the bjc, bristol, the other bristol, london).

you could try and arrange a poi convention - i'd try and get there

Somewhere near an airport that has flights from Ireland would be nice!

i'll help sort it out if people are keen for a more poi/ staff themed event rather then juggling... not to say our theowing cousins cannot join.. but a more poi themed feel to a convention would be pretty crazy..... could get some sellers selling stuff too... hmmm... a big HOP stall full of pretty things.. hmmmm....

Why does everyone forget devil stickers? (OK, I can barely do anything, but I do like watching DsAds be very very sick with the devil sticks)

devil stickers aren't forgotten - they are intentionally ignored (cos no-one likes a show off and they are really f*ckin hard! ).

no-one has mentioned diabolo either but its probably cos this is a thread about a poi and staff themed convention.
i'm sure if it comes off (as with most of these things) all disciplines would be welcome...

They're not hard, I'd put them above poi and diablo, and below juggling in terms of acquiring the basics.

So we need a place with a park and/or shelter (it's England) that's easy to get to, near an airport with sellers and spinners....

I think it a great idea.

How about birmingham? It's central within the UK - so is fairly easy to get to from most of the uk, with a big train station, and has an international airport too. I don't know exactly where in Birmingham though, cos I don't live there, but there must be some big parks around somewhere!

ok, well, seeing as the idea is not just bond to my genious... why don't we get it going?

where to put it? i'm thinking the middle of england because... well.. london gets everything... lets have something else for a change.... plus its more equal to those up north...

more thoughts anyone? if we got this going, it'd pretty ****ing crazy....

i'm willing to help organise it, if you want an extra pair of hands.

I've not being playing at this all for very long, but have organised events and stuff before...and it would look very impressive on my cv as i want to get into events/conference managing stuff too

Yes yes! I'd like to put in a helping hand organising it too? I know some people that run a circus night (training diablo, poi, staff juggling etc) regularly? Don't know if that helps?

So are we all gonna organise it from here - i mean using this page in the forum (which if everyone makes a different suggestion could get complicated and no one actually makes any decisions) or via emails/somewhere else on the forums etc?
