Hi all... I am a complete newbie to poi, fire twirling and anything/everything related. In fact, I'll only even see it in real life for the 1st time next Friday (making it down to the Moon Fest on north side of Brissie).
Anyway, this is me...

Education: Did Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science and Pure Maths. Then Grad Dip Appl Computing... then started a research masters, but gave it away when life got in the way.
Favorite Book(s): Have to get back to you on that one... The Anarchist was the last book I read, quite liked it.

ur pagan gatherings sound like fab fun... u can poke all u like, I don't have the energy to defend myselfry: nope, no pokeage from the lil fella... but I'm betting he will (he remembers *EVERYTHING*). ye missed juggle, and pretty much everything else lately... moonfest was my only time away from work in the last couple weeks

Don't feel too bad darlin.' It never fails for me that every year for the past 20, someone makes me cry on my BD.
Mine turned out better this year because my monthly Tarot Meetup Group happened to end up falling on my BD and they threw me a kinda surprise party along with the meetup.
Just don't let it get you down and be sure to find something special to do for yourself, no matter what it is!

ok... pogo==sad update... looks like I *may* get away for at least saturday night/sunday for my birthday, so... small yay (till it happens, I'm not committing to a big YAY)...
I'm still pissed @ work for interrupting my plans (been planning getting away this coming weekend for months... ok, planning implies I actually planned something which isn't entirely accurate, but I was meaning to go camping somewhere)... anyway, all goes to plan I'll @ least be heading off saturday after lunch till whenever sunday morning and work can go to hell

rebekah: 36 has been and gone, hun... 37 on sunday... and... I am indeed getting away saturday/sunday...!! not the whole weekend like I'd planned, but a compromise of sorts... I get a little me time and still (hopefully) get my work done... blue funk and hugses? got heaps more where that came from:

I didn't have a birthday party at all this year. I'd been working till 2 am or so for a week to get stuff ready in time to bring some samples down to London. So on my birthday I finished "early" at 6, planned to go out to spin for 10ish (as I'd told people I would). Then my lovely ex insisted I'd go there for 8 because he had told people I would, and when we got there at about 9 he more or less forgot about me (except for complaining that I wasn't fast enough because my ankle was hurting and I wanted to take a bus).
If your birthday is worse, come back for hugs
I'll have my half-birthday party in November though, that should be fun
