hmmmmm so i was checking out the french forum for fire twirling .... YEEEHHAAAA can you beleive it ?
and a post says who invented poi and peopel reply :

and i am confused
i posted a reply to tell them a bit about maoris and about bolas and all that ...
but can anyone tell me about taht guy and who the heck would claim to have invented poi ????

is it a joke on the website where they purposefully post something that blatantly arrogant ????

cass, don't buy into c@ntus' anti-jay sentiment - he's just jealous that he can't bend his elbow backwards like jay can...
so the joke is the fact that jay gilligan does not even swing poi - which is *exactly* what he says!
i don't know if you have noticed but in some juggling circles poi are seen as, well, 'crap' (for want of a more descriptive vocabulary).
i think jay was making fun of that derision by taking it to the extreme.
he does come off as a little arrogant sometimes in his shows, but not really in this case.
its a joke. and bluecat stole it

three wicked new skool ball and club jugglers doing quirky stuff with radical fish clubs and nice round colourful balls.
maksim - the smoothest guy ever to have that bad a haircut. possibly my favourite (professional?) juggler due to the fact that he looks like he may well fall asleep ata ny second, even while his arms and hands do stuff that make my head want to implode.
ville - weirdo does amazing headroll stuff.
gilligan - american juggler turned euro. loves to show off but has the skills to back it up (and more in reserve i'm sure).
there's loads of wicked clips on their site and next time you're in london, nag glass to stick their video on. again
and it seems although tepooka discovered them, nyc was the first to share the planes and spread the bubble love - cross-continent no less
