Seven years ago I was at a huge campout rave in illinois called Ravem' and Bailey I was wandering around that first night, bonfires burning, bass booming from multiple directions and laser lights flickering through the trees, it was the circus of hell, lavender crystal made everything grotesquely exhilerating. There was a clearing, a woman emerged, she was dominatrix red leather flowing tresses leggy bondage goddess.
And she had fire.
And I was in love. enthralled.
Seven years later and I finally picked it up myself.

Ok, so I'm also a graduate student a the University of Wisconsin getting my MLS to be a librarian (yes, you need a master's degree for that). I love books and read voraciously but don't fit the librarian stereotype otherwise: I'm outgoing, liberal, social, free spirited, and don't tend to shush people or wear my hair in a bun. I also enjoy dancing, travel (I'll be leaving for a month in Indonesia on Tuesday), music, dive bars, ethnic food, booze, indie films, tattoos, rooftops, skinny dipping, and generally all things seedy, cheap, naughty, and fun.
I would LOVE to meet other people who spin since I'm finding it frustrating to learn the more difficult intermediate moves by reading their descriptions, but it doesnt seem that there are too many poi spinners in the madison area
