Hey peeps... Wehey... My first forum... The love of Poi made me do it!! Just finished doin loadsa Poi at Manchester's Gay Pride, and it rocked... had loadsa people asking me where I learnt... Trouble is... Now in poi comfort zone... wanna learn more... So... Hello and Help!

Yeah!! Dave is back!! I wasn't doin anythin... was just hanging out behind the curtain coz I was feelin left out!
You left me, and Doc and Joe just get off with each other all the time *sob*

I'm just dandy, thank you for asking GB. Swamped at work, yet I can still post on HoP! I think I'm in a little bit of denial. I'll soon be taking my lunch break and heading out to the lawn for a spin and that always puts me in good spirits.

yes, i spin at work. i work for an agency of the city of san francisco that funds arts and cultural activities. my office is in city hall, which is a pretty grand building. lately i've been going to the lawn across the street next to the opera house to spin on my lunch hour. once the rainy season starts i may go up to the fourth floor promenade (actually i think the proper architectural term for this feature of the building is an "arcade"). there are these huge windows, and it's all marble & stone and open, and hardly anybody goes up there at all. i've spun up there before, but that was early on and i've improved a lot since then, so i can show off properly now.
but no joe--i'm not a tails boi. tails get in the way a lot, i find. or at least the way i spin they do. although i bet flowers would look lovely with tails. my standard toys are rainbow poi -- they look cool unlit, but they also strobe, so they're good multi-purpose poi.

I have spin a bit at work when I go for my fag break. I'm always of two minds whether to spin using Globalz lest I attract the attentions of the printers loitering outside...

Oh Blue... thats interesting... I would for our city council too, and on the same team as me is Manchester's Arts and Culture Officer (who is lovely) and she commissions lots of stuff in the area... I do Social Regeneration, which is more about engagment, inclusion and capacity building...

I just spin when I;m bored... outside of lectures, inside lecture theatres, wherever I am, whatever I'm doing, it's all cool. I'll spin and enjoy it!
As a computer science student, I'm not that keen on physical exhertion, but poi's damn good fun!

GB: hmmm...Social Regeneration sounds like what we would call Community Development. Nice that you and an arts person are on the same team; I think the arts are a really powerful tool for community & economic development. I never thought I'd encounter the term "capacity building" on HoP though!!!
