Hey peeps... Wehey... My first forum... The love of Poi made me do it!! Just finished doin loadsa Poi at Manchester's Gay Pride, and it rocked... had loadsa people asking me where I learnt... Trouble is... Now in poi comfort zone... wanna learn more... So... Hello and Help!

And queers make the best impressions. I will still never forget meeting this guy at a house party... I was walking thru the kitchen to get some water, and he was standing in front of me, and all of the sudden he just gasps hugely and says (in a very queeny manner) "YOU have TOEsocks!"
He was really funny and wonderful
He lived in New Orleans when Katrina hit. (4th year of school). I don't actually know where he is now.

Just come back from my black tie work do!! There were SO many very drunk people, and to think, we had to make sure they were all entertained... We had the Mayor there, and one very drunk colleague who works for a different agency went up to him and said something like 'stop lookin at my tits and look at my face' He wasn't even looking!! Poor man!
Anyway, it is 2am, and I really should be out clubbin now... Grrrr... What's everyone else done this weekend?

At 4AM one of my patient's IV's came out. She's a 15 year old girl who's neurologically devastated from an event that happened at birth. She's only 19 kilos, twisted with horrible scoliosis, and basically can grunt and smile.
(A rant on kids like this is coming eventually). She's got eeeeety-beeety roley-poley veins and she's impossible to start an IV on. I'm decent at starting IV's. I stuck her three times. Then my senior resident tried three times. Then the senior resident from the other team stuck her three more times and finally got a line in a very painful place (but a serviceable vein) on the third try. So it took three residents nine sticks to get a line on this girl.
And then we had to get a lab draw on her. Now, I may be OK at getting IV's, but I'm really good at getting blood out of people. The running joke is that I could get blood from stone.
Took four pokes to get enough blood because she kept on fighting the pokes. Poor girl, she's really sweet. But I hate having her as a patient.

Happy Birthday Jen! and fsck me that was a long day. lectures fromm 9 til 530, including such wonders as Human-COmputer Interaction, Operating Systems Analysis and Design and Compiler Engineering. My fellah's working late tonight, I'm off clubbing at Ikon's student night, I've got freshers flu, and I've been persuaded to go to the LGB's first meeting of the year.
So yeah, it's been an interesting day!
