hey, new to the forums but not to homeofpoi. finally got the guts to join up. Not actually any good at poi yet, I can do a few simple spin patterns but that's it. I'm loving every minute of it though. For me its so meditative and relaxing! so yeah, hi all

That's fantastic! I've been doing book stuff/ making paper around 3 years i think. It just started with the paper making thing... then i got into all the traditional binding.. i'd like to do covers next... like the old fashion artistic stuff with leather stamps and stuff. Though, I don't think I'll have time for that! Go and have a look at really old books at a big library, strange i know, but I find some of the craftmanship amazing. Sad these days they aren't given so much attention. Ohno.. look at me, ranting about books now!
Oh and I do some flower pressing to stick on the paper too (well, before uni started anyway!), which can be really pretty
We should swap paper sometime!

oh my god I love you! how long have you been in book arts? I've only started this year so I'm new at it but I love it soooo much, I love art. everything about art. I include poi as art so I love poi too, very much. but yay! I'm happy to find someone else here who likes book art!!! whee!

I agree! I've got some that I would love to show you. I generally prefer making paper out of cotton fabric scraps that I cut up into small pieces because then I don't have to die the pulp later, since its already colored. that way it won't bleed or anything like that...okay, I'll stop ranting about papermaking on a poi forum...they both start with p though...they're kind of related...
