well i just had to think about stereotyping people by the way they dress/ look.
i always considered myself to be part of the alternative culture, and i mostly looked it. I had my punk phase, i had my "colorful like a clown on acid" phase, i had my all black phase, and so on. And i was always confronted by some stereotype about the social group that i remotely looked like i belong to. I got hassled by the cops plenty of times for standing out. I had people that i met react negatively to me cause i was dressed all in black with a "hatebreed" t-shirt. i had ppl from "rival" social groups give me crap, Now i caught myself dressing in a way where i dont look like i belong to something. i dress "normally" more and more. And have found that people have a much more neutral approach to me, generally. Cops wont remember me cause i wont stand out of the crowd, optically. so what do you think about this? am i giving in to the mainstream? or am i just sick of being judged by ppl that dont know me? or do i just want my peace?

i didn't show up when i came in here two minutes ago!!
I prefer not to stand out, I'm tall enough and that doesn't help so i generally dress quite plainly to avoid attention. I've always been a bit of an introvert, so I quite like it that i don't draw attention to myself.
Only problem is when i
high numbers, that draws attention. However i generally like the corners of rooms and spaces, which is how i try and get around this. Not sure how much that works, but hey...

well its other ppl passing judgement that i dont wanna deal with anymore, i know that i should be the way i want and everybody should respect that. BUT it doesnt work that way and when i was put between being constantly judged and having my peace, i decided to have my peace.
but now people dont expect all this weird stuff that im into. Nobody expects me to juggle, spin fire, go to raves, hang out with mostly lazy hippies, and be an international economy student at the same time.... its kinda funny...

The SLUTS crew pulled the Genos Gate stunt in habbo hotel before it was done on cokemusic. Essentially done as an effort to surpass a particularly large geno invasion that was staged by GBS a short while previously (SLUTS were supposed to be SA's elite prank team, their reputation was at stake here, such that it was).
The execution was simple. A number of rooms were created, each consisting of a large number of beds and a single mini bar. In the days leading up to the event, genos would preach that something big was coming.
One of the things about Habbo is that if you log out, your character will simply stand up and leave - which would be rather anticlimactic - though if the connection times out your little geno will spontaneously disappear. This was the effect required for the ascension.
One fine day, on Cokemusic.com, the SA goons decided to hold a mass-Geno suicide called "The Ascension." Every Geno was to become one with the Grey Light and transcend their human bodies. At 7pm, every Geno ceased all praise to the Grey Light and let their character ping out from Cokemusic.
When you pinged out, you had Ascended. It was good. The light was warm and grey. Many of the 14-year-old kids were confused with our mass-Geno suicide. There were many of them crying out: "omg the genoz kild themslvs 4 serius!!!!!1"

I stand out.
People hate me for it and call me a poser because i was normal up until about 9 months ago.
I dress in black mainly, baggy black or camo, or lace...wahtever takes my fancy and dark dark dark eyes are my thing. I get called a freak but all i do is laugh because the ones who call me that - are sheep. And i say - Better wierd than boring!

*laffs* well... i always thought that i stood out more because of what i wear, had piercings/tattoos and strange coloured hair...
but now, i have normal hair, cover my tatts, taken most piercings out... and wear jeans and t-shirts... and i still stand out. i guess its the burden of being a 6'2" female. *shrugs* used to bother me... but now i just go with the flow. get to meet lots of interesting people (i cant leave the house without at least 1 stranger talking to me, even if it is to cross the road to go to the shop, always someone waiting to talk to me) so *shrugs* embrace it and use it. dont be afraid!

you obviously live in a positive environment.
come to austria, stay for a couple of years and see past mozart and pretty buildings, you see the pure negativeness of these ppl, example:
in the uk you spin poi at a party and most ppl will be happy to have something trippy to look at, right...
i austria you spin poi at party and ppl accuse you of showing off and being an attention wh0re....
and that happens all the time:
2 mates of mine get busted by cop smoking a spliff on a park, one of them has dreads and baggy clothing and the other one was wearing a smoking as he was on the way to some ball. the guy in the smoking was let go cause he obviously was going to a ball, and the kid with dreads got in trouble....

edit: by the way, im not afraid of attention at all, and i can deal with it. all i was saying tht i started conciously dressing normal in certain situations to avoid stress, and dealing with arseholes.........

well sort fo depends on my family. i am a highest honors student at the moment (THAT was a pain in the arse to achieve) so technically i could leave to london whenever my rents leave me. im sorta financially dependent on them, as im doing an american style education, and its so ridiculously expensive that i cant even get loan for it. so ill be in the uk latest when im done with my bachelor nd thats in 1.5 years. my parents agree that the ony logical step is to go abroad, and get a masters somwhere else. London!

yeah! we should geta flash mob together! I did one of those in the middle of oxford. We had about 40 people in a circle stood in silence for a minute then held up cooking utensils and shouted 'too many cooks spoil the broth' 3 times then walked away and acted like nothing had happened very funny

hey man, dont worry if you think youre becoming a 'conformist' (hehe :P ) as you know, i used to have dreads, and ive had my share of 'this kid lives on the streets and i dont want to talk to him' even when i just wanna know where the friggin bathroom is! since i cut them tho, i havent changed, im still the same person... i still hang out with the same type of ppl, and those are the ppl who know the real you, and not the 'oh, its konsti the goth' you.. man, the ppl who b1thc about what someone looks like are exactly the ppl you wanna avoid.. how many of your friends do that?
but i know what you mean by saying that youre sick of being treated like some scum who eats out of garbage cans, when in fact were just peaceful, studious hippies
so... to summarize, just do what you feel comfortable doing.

I am always looking to try new things, and so I start alot of fads in my town. I do what ever I want, when ever I want, and no one else can do anything to stop me :P

my fashion sense has varied. I used to like oriental clothes (stuff with dragons), then I moved on to loads of hoodies. Now im into jeans, light jumpers and dark shirts (with a spike belt)

I'm also chamelion-like... I have a wide array of clothing, and can go into prettymuch anything looking similar to the people around me. Buuut... I dress differently anyway sometimes. How I dress reflects my mood.
Bad mood/feeling sick, old worn jeans, huge 5x too big orange hoodie with holes in it (it's looooved!)
Bouncy rainbow happy-go-lucky mood: big. bright. baggy. orange. pants. Nothing better!
Weird mood: any of my clothing layered on top of the others...
Normal/idontcare: jeans and a t-shirt... but I used to always do that, and am a bit bored of it now!! (And my shirts are all getting to big for me)
Sometimes I go all flowy and hippy, but people tend to stare at that alot...
Ah well... I like my pyjamas though they're pink, too big, but lossa sentimental value, and I looooove them

I'm also chamelion-like... I have a wide array of clothing, and can go into prettymuch anything looking similar to the people around me. Buuut... I dress differently anyway sometimes. How I dress reflects my mood.
Bad mood/feeling sick, old worn jeans, huge 5x too big orange hoodie with holes in it (it's looooved!)
Bouncy rainbow happy-go-lucky mood: big. bright. baggy. orange. pants. Nothing better!
Weird mood: any of my clothing layered on top of the others...
Normal/idontcare: jeans and a t-shirt... but I used to always do that, and am a bit bored of it now!! (And my shirts are all getting to big for me
)Sometimes I go all flowy and hippy, but people tend to stare at that alot...
Ah well... I like my pyjamas though
