So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

Hello there, hope you are well.
Mmmm.... so I got a knock at my door this morning with a very strange looking delivery man standing there holding a package for me, being that I was not expecting anything really to arrive I was quite shocked. It said on the outside that it had come from some place in Hong Kong... I opened it up, and to my surprise it contained some very useful pieces of equipment...
Now, Ry Sir, you wouldn't happen to know anything about this would you???? Hmmmm?? spank

Birg: You're doing a Phd so you can come out Doctor Birg! So looks like you've been quite the busy bee lately. Been the same over here.. hoping for some kind of respite soon. It's just gone all madhouse. Solutions are either a> payrise b> the company getting someone else in. It's just schiesse at the moment because a> hard to get out of my particular boss b>not going to happen in this lifetime I don't think. Just grinning and bearing it. Hope all's better on your side! hug

Cigarette up it's bum?? ubblol Show me a picture of someone sucking on a cigarette and I'll show you a picture of a smoker with a cigarette up his/her bum.. tongue

Beth: lol.. Even the salmon smokers? confused I like them..

sparkey: Haven't actually seen a puffin in real life.. I imagine them to be quite cute (even if I do believe that birds are best in the foul variety- oven-roasted will do) for birds. Hey that actually reminds me of Puffin Books.. the publisher.. are they still around do you know?

Andrea: Yes.. haven't been manically posting as per usual- been up to my neck in work poo. Not fun. I'd much rather have voracious deer to deal with, any day! ubblol Roaming evil deer.. ubblol

So have you painted any of them as yet? I'm still looking forward to the pictures!

Large spiky and safe?? ubblol So.. you're after a bodyguard type eh? What happened to you know.. what's his name wink

37 degrees eek! That's awful! My ideal is half that! With cosy company to steal warmth from of course.. ubbangel

hug hug

Russ: Do pterodactyls count as birds? I reckon they can hold things with their wings? wink

Lou: Did not!! Was awake.. sorry rang a bit late. Tea kind of took its time and when I did get round to ringing there wasn't an answer.. hug

So.. first day back at uni? Hope it's not tooo strussful ubbrollsmile.. I bet someone told you today what nice clothes you're wearing.. am I right, am I right?

Also! eBee feedback.. currently at 47 from unique members, 50 total, 100% positive. biggrin I'm going to earn my next star soon!

Sending you lots of warmth and sunshine kitten.. hug hug hug *maow*

Jean: Who? What? Me? Nooo surely not. ubblol

Have the happiest birthday miss. Just a little something to keep you on target. It's a good one (am thinking of getting one myself possibly.) I hope all the parts join up alright.. I had to get everything separately, so I'm only 98% sure. Specifically whether the hood has the adapter to mate it to the paperweight ubblol wink

Also, something to whet your apetite:

I think you might mean B. Alas, Fate prevented me from getting back to London in time for the big date frown So sad. We did have one rather amazing delightful whirlwind of a day together before I went to Ireland. Exciting. He asked me to change my return plane ticket so we would have time together on my way back. In a silly dreamy daze, I actually did! But then the van I was travelling in broke down eek and I somehow ended up stuck in Dublin . Stuck with *ahem* another lovely person redface so all was fine in the end.ubbtickled Wont see B for another five monthsish, my heart has let it all go for now.

Or maybe you mean Darren, the wild guy from here?

confused2 But I think I told you I ended things with him when I found out about the country music? It was an insurrmountable obstacle to our love...

Yes, I need a bodyguard. Seriously. Just for the next week or two. I so wish someone was here help

Cant wait til I get to hug you in person for it!
Some of those shots are amazing... it certainly has made the target much more of a reality, I have bits to play with... camera bits that it!
The hood did come with the adapter, and it fits together nicely. It's not that much of a paperweight... am sure there are others that are worse! wink

oh boo, that sounds not very nice at your work frown Good luck with getting the payrise out of your boss!!

With me it's all pretty chaotic right now but really with the effect that between now and the end of next March the word "free time" doesn't really mean much anymore. I guess I'll still have to have some of that though, and I'll DEFINITELY take the rest of my holidays even if it's "unusual" for a 3rd year PhD to do so cause if I don't I'll probably end up crazy!!

There you go, your turn now!

Hey.. if you encounter some big brutish sort in some dark alley trying to mug you, perhaps you could just recruit him into your little harem! ubblol spank

mmm... nuance.. I think I had them in my list.. the list which I lost ubbcrying I'll have to start rebuilding from scratch now. *sigh*

Jean: phew! Was worrying for a second there. I'm browsing ebay and getting itchy to buy something- which I really shouldn't, if I'm to save up for a 17-55 2.8.. help

Birg: Yeah.. yesterday was disgusting. But somehow managed to get that hint to the bus in there. Unfortunately it's only going to be a couple of dollars, and not the $10,000 more I think I'm worth. Will probably end up with all of twelve dollars more a year.. All of which will be neutralised by the 15.40 taxi fare I spent yesterday in frustration. mad2

Ry, I live on a litle island in the woods! There are no alleys here. No muggers either. In fact, my roomate just pointed out to me that last night we went to sleep with the front door wide open-- and the issue was raised not because of thieves, but because of racoons...

Hmmn, enjoy that extra $12 my friend, you only need $88 more to do one of the things on your life time list...

Hey, that's the same picture I sent to you, and there's no bum on it! (If you do find one with a bum can you make it a nice male one please with not too much hair? Ta muchly!)

ooooh by the way my friend's dad has found a car for me, a corsa which is affordable and will be newly serviced and just a bit rusty but apparently fine, so I'm considering getting it! And then I can go to slightly further off spinning meets and get to Prestwick airport without spending 3 1/2 hours on trains and stations! Must think carefully before spending money though smile
