right now I can't be arsed reading it all, but I think the idea of televising war is seriously flawed. Sure it opens it to ethical scrutiny, it also makes a whole industry which profits greatly over televising combat (and everything to do with combat)

I don't like the idea of turning the news into a action movie. I personally am fascinated with tactics, systems and equipment of warfare enough that I know the military is heading very quickly in the direction of makeing warfare cheaper. Fuel air explosives and cluster bombs are being used heavily, so are so called "dumb bombs" all cost effective weapons. The military refrains from using superior ammunition that would often result in better outcomes for the only reason I can see that said superior ammunition (7.62 mainly) is more expensive then the common ammunition (5.56)

In general, I think the closer we get to war being cheap, and the higher people profit off war. the more war will be seen as a viable alternative to any problem, and worse the more chance their will be that people will find problems so war can happen.
