Let's see.......
I could post all the whys of why I'm here, but trust me when I say it's a semi long story with too much melancholy. The mini version is that I have always wanted to learn and dabbled (very little) with fire play in the fetish community. Now I have the reason, time & strong desire to learn.
I'm here to read over the Lesson articles, pick up some tips & safety guidelines, possibly meet a few people and hoping I can find someone to teach or a place I can take lessons in my area.
If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I would definitely appreciate any & all.

advice for learning -
don;t get too frustrated if you can;t do something, if you find yourself getting angry, put ur spinny things down for a few minutes, have a cuppa and start again.
Everything is always better after a cup of tea

Are you learning poi or staff from the lessons?
Where 'bouts are you from? (Then people might know if they're in your area.

I live in Long Beach, Ca which is in Los Angeles County.
The only fire play I have ever done has been in the fetish community where a light/thin stream of alcohol is put on a person's back or arm and then lit on fire for a brief moment. I was going to learn full fire play from a friend, but she moved away & than I got on my "having a business career is good" track. After 5 years of that and current situation, I desperately needed a change. I re evaluated my life and decided I really need to do the things I have always wanted to do and stop putting things off that I sincerely want to do.
I want to learn both Poi & Staff dancing. Eventually I also want to learn sword dancing where performers have special swords that are on fire & dance. I'm looking for fencing classes now too.

Poi would definitely be a good one for you to learn. Nice floggers can look really cool when spun like poi.
