it's now 7:42am here and i'm about ready to have a unreasonably strong spliff, fall downstairs and pass out again in front of a video

of course normally i will avoid getting up in the morning by virtue of the fact that normally when morning comes around i'm still not actually in bed.

Enjoying your job, the people you work with, and the grass u smoke before you go to work makes it a whole heap easier, especially if u gets up @ half 5.....And if u didn't get out of bed, you'd never meet any spinny cutesy poi girlies would u?

I get out of bed because Kate wont let me have my computer in the bedroom

nah - I've made a bunch of positive steps to improve my life recently (gave notice at work, booked flights OS, etc), and it makes it really fun. In a couple of weeks I'm moving to the Uk from Australia, and I think that will be interesting.

If you cant think of a reason to get out of bed, you should make a big change in your life - the worst that can happen is you appreciate hiding under your covers more

Goals. Big ones that are achievable. thats what I get out of Bed for.

My main motivating force for getting up in the morning most days is to take my dogs for a walk. This morning my motivating force was that the sun was shining and I had the urge to sit in the garden and have breakfast.

The things that make every day worth it are watching the flowers grow. Seeing my dogs wagging tails and happy faces when I get their leads to take them out. The joy of just *being*.

Are we nearly there yet?

I get up in the morning, or the afternoon, because everyday has opportunity, excitement and happiness. There may be bills to pay, work to do, things to worry about, but they will always be outweighed by the beautiful people I'll meet, the things I'll accomplish, the happy thoughts I'll think, the poi I spin and a beautiful smile that sits in my mind.

I get up as early as possible and love those nights where I don't have to sleep so I can watch the world around me waking up. I wake up most days at 7ish. I get up to learn, to experience, and to witness more faces. Atleast everyday I walk down the street and see a new face; that alone reminds me that there is so much more in life that I don't know, so many more beautiful people to meet. I will waste no time. Experience is the key to knowledge and thus fulfillment.

Can miles truly separate us from friends? If we want to be with someone we love aren't we already there? If there is someone willing to show, and there is someone willing to see; magic happens. This is whem humans are alive. This is when the wingless fly.

As with Smiley and Bram I'm getting up to study (stupid A-levels...*runs away and commits 12 accounts of homicide upon the Edexel board of directors...then wakes up to discover edexel are actually immortal*)

BUT in the grander scale of things I get up to weave the path that will one day be my life. And amongst my weaving I will meet people with whom I can share my progress so far. Beautiful people I will connect with and share indescribable moments of silence with...

I have so much that I want to do. And to do what I want to do, I have to do a lot of stuff. I have to get up to go to class because I want to get good grades. I have to get good grades because that way I'll get a good residency. If I get a good residency, then I can do the research that I want to do. And maybe if I get to do the research that I want to do, I can change a little corner of the world for the better.

My purpose in life is to discover my purpose in life. Might take a while, though...

*Because the more lay in bed the more lthargic I get and eventually I just won't get up.
*Because my 7 year old will inevitably need something from the top shelf in the kitchen.
*Because my beloved reptiles will need food, water and a bit of TLC.
*Because sunrise here in the east is astounding, and a good cup of coffee is the perfect accompaniment to the birds.
*Because the sun in the windows is too bright to ignore and I am too lazy to put up curtains (plus we are moving in two weeks so there is no point anyway!)
*Because, when it actually doesn't rain, my beloved plants need to be watered.
*Work, well, that isn't a reason at all is it?
*Because yoga/pilates at 5:30 and spinning at 6 am is really incredible.
*Because if I don't depression will eat me alive.

And on weekends I usually get up because peeing in the bed is just disgusting!

Oh, and not everyday is worth it on the whole, but there is always that one little thing I look for in every sucky day that made it worthwhile. Like today, it was seeing my co-workers stick paperclips to his nipples and then turn around to see our boss standing there. That was priceless!

Little things, small steps and stepping stones.

On good days I get up to enjoy the day, experience and relish it.

On bad days I get up to see if I can make more good days.

It was a day for screaming at inanimate objects.

I get up ...erm... well sometimes i don't. but when i do it's to go outside and spin inthe warm sunshine!!!

which happens as long as it's sunny. i don't relly get up when it's raining. at least not often.

oh, but a note about spinning first thing in the mroning in the sunshine- spin nonlethal toys until ur awake. my six foot staff was not a good starting choice, for example.

Sometimes I really don't know why I bother getting out of bed at all.

Recently, I've let myself start to drift along through life without doing anything other than get up and go to work, get back home, waste some time then go to bed.
I find it very hard to make plans and aim for them, I tend to come up with an idea of what I want to do, think about how good it'd be for a while, then let the opportunity pass me by.

Currently, my main aims are to build myself a longboard, build myself a geodesic dome shelter to use at Reading festival, get to the 2004 gathering, get to Burningman and move out of my parent's house - I have to keep reminding myself of these when I wake up.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Burning Man has been a pretty good motivator for me! IMHO, you have to make a commitment to the goal, THEN figure out how to make it happen. If you first try to figure out how to make it happen, you'll get bogged down with the details, and give up. When I first decided to go to Burning Man this year I was denied the time off. I respond poorly to "no". Burning Man was something I really wanted to do, so I took the denial of time as an opportunity to change some other stuff in my life that was dragging me down and making it unpleasant to get out of bed. I'm quitting the job, wriggling out of the grasp of corporate America, going to Burning Man, then coming back home and going back to graduate school full-time.
Now that i'm committed to it, I have only to figure out how to pay the rent! Weeee!

Guess I'll go fill out an introduction thingy now!

Well, when i was living at home, my motivation to get up was my mum yelling at me..
Now i get up because i realise that eventually the day will come when i will not wake up, and therefore (obviously) will not-be-able to get up! It may be tommorrow, it may be when i'm an 80year old man.. who knows! I want to taste everything life has to offer while i can! triumph, despair, joy, love, "it's all good"!
That, and coffee! - but thismorning we had no milk, so i used strawberry yoghurt as a substitute.... hey, it was a good idea in theory

I dunno aboout you guys but it is ushally cause I gotta piss real bad.

Seriously though this is not so much to do with getting up in the morning but has anyone noticed just how much more you get out of the day if you are not sleeping through half of it (as enjoyable as it may be). Or even thought about how much a waste of about a third of your life sleep is. Lenardo Divinci apprantley never slept claimining that it was a waste of time. One third of your life in a unconcious state not being able to see all and enjoy all that life has to offer. Kinda a raw deal dont you think.

Simply an excuse to play with fire.

Hello,

Only read the first message but I thought I would tell everyone why I get up in the morning....

I happen to believe life is the reason I get up every morning... No matter how shitty it can get life is a beutiful thing! I personally feel lucky to be here and to be able to share with others. Thats why I wake up!

If that one doesnt satisfy u then think... millions of sperm were released when u were made but U are the one that made it... So be fucking proud!!!!! and keep waking up!!!

WE ARE THE SPERM THAT MADE IT!!!!!!!!!
