Posted: Poje, one of the best things I did was buy three clubs, and I learnt to juggle as well as swing.
MNS, callisthenics clubs are fun, but I’d go for proper juggling clubs for juggling.
Personally, I prefer balls to knobs, but lots of people learn to swing with knobs.
PX3's are good for swinging, but Dube does make an intermediate club b/t juggling and swinging. Suggest going to props shop like Juggleart and trying a few different clubs.
Meshunderlay, to answer your question. That would probably be the “snake” move. Check the Jillings book

Posted: sounds like a snake. Look in ....chapter 12, maybe 13 of Jillings' book and see if that's the move you are thinking of. The online pdf is linked on page 1 of this thread.
As for what kind of clubs, if you are concerned with the particular shape of the knob, I know Duncan juggling clubs (usually sold as a beginner set) have a nice round end on them.
From what I have read, the key is not in the knob itself but in using the proper grips: ring or socket and not between your first two fingers like you might with poi.

Posted: Thanks for the info! I'll head into Juggleart and start playing round with their clubs, I'll ask one of the staff, they tend to be pretty friendly.

Posted: Ahh yea, thanks.
That was it. You know I've been glancing at that book, but I hadn't gotten quite that far yet. =)
Posted: Hi all! It´s so nice to see that there are still some clubswingers in the world. Well, in my library are some books about clubswinging; the last one i ordered was the legendary W.J.Schatz, the print of kessinger publications for 2008. When i started to study it, i noticed that there´s at least one page missing.
So please, if any of you own this book, from dubé (1990) or the old original from 1908, can you send me a good scan of page 33? The other pages that i don´t have are 2,3,4,11,30,32,106 and 114, but i don´t know if they´re left blank for some reason. It would be very helpful if anyone could help me in my quest of mastering the honorable techniques of clubswinging.
Besides, Henrys is offering a new club for swinging and contact manipulation, the so called MIRAGE. It looks like a mixture between the fat Albatros and the fast-spinning Pirouette. Has anyone tried it yet? I really hope my juggling store will be able to make a presentation for me.
Perhaps there will be a video of me until the end of 2008, i´m still working on it.
Don´t forget Schatz, it´s like the bible to me.

Posted: I got a snake question....
Page 51 of Jillings book, https://www.semlyen.net/cosmosjugglers/lib/lesson13.pdf , I can extend the snake out and go from under my arm to the back/top but then the onyl way i can get back into the cradle posistion is to kinda roll the club around my elbow. Is this the correct movement?
Posted: For snake curls, try to direct the base of the club in one horizontal circle above and one horizontal circle under your arm, ending in the cradle position. Regular snake curls have only two circles, shoulder snakes have two circles and the third one is the throw-off.
I think Val does also snakes in his videos, but i planned to make some tutorials on utube. Time to get on with them!
Posted: Clubswinging Videos on the internet: a hard piece of work for months. I downloaded and converted them directly to harddisk, but never collected the URLs. Now it´s time to change things for you all, starting with my first list of links to
28 Clubswinging Videos containing Snake Moves.

Emiliano's vids are insane, this guy is a huge dancer and juggler. +1 for "riguetone"!
Good luck for everyone! This list may help out a lot of people!

Posted: I have the schatz too!
sounds like Stone is on it tho.
mmm - videos with a rating would be a bit biased, because I have a certain 'taste' in club swinging/manipulation, however a short description of (the interesting bits in) each would probly be better.
I've watched/skimmed the first 28 (with snakes) but I'm not sure I'll have time to look at 110 this week!

Posted: Hi all! How is everyone? Still swinging the clubs? What are you trying at the moment? I´ve never thought that my wrists could get soooo flexible, but spirals are real fun!
I know that not everyone is able to watch them all, but this videolists won´t disappear, as long as the videos will exist. It´s a possibility to get inspiration if you´re in need, or just for relaxing and being passive. Perhaps we could start (in another thread?) to describe the videos we´ve seen so far, with the pointing on time of specials.
I´m just editing some of my own recordings to give you more sssnakezzz, so watch out for it soon. You can also see some photos of me at https://www.myspace.com/mcmage_fl
In the mean time here are:
71 More Videos containing Club or Torch Swinging (some with snakes, so watch carefully!)
Watch, learn, try and have fun! Please report any broken links; questions and/or more links are always welcome!

So far my favorites from the first list have been: Malabares Porro numero canne-massue - Florent Lestage Club Swinging in the House of Power (see links in original list)

Posted: @Squid: Oh, I´m really soo sorry! But keep your head up, currently all videos I know are listed (nearly,) so it will take some time to find some new for us.
(Not until Josh uploads his old video he was talking about earlier above.)
@Pyrolific: Is this "old clubswinging video" you mentioned the same one that was discussed in may 2004? Or the lost one on soton-firespinning from november that year? Would be nice to see it, I think I tried earlier to find it, but without success. So please! Open your treasure chest!

I dont know if this counts. MCP is not doing club swinging, but club contact tricks in the 3rd Vulcan Tech Blog:

At the moment, it takes some of my time to translate the last two pages from Schatz to german (Well, this looks like Schatz is a language for itself.) Then I just have to check it once more to get it in form and printable.
But there´s another thing I´m not able to hold back:
List No.4 with 23 Clubswinging Videos (some also containing manipulation)
One of the remaining problems is the missing of two pages, I think it´s 32 and 33, which are also missing in the printed version from Kessinger Publishing. Feel free to ask me for them (I got mine from the friendly Stone).
I´ve also made my own digital text-version with some corrected mistakes (in english), and had even more hours of fun (and work) translating it into german language.
I don´t have my own webspace, so where could the E-Documents be placed or uploaded for all?

Posted: Hi McMage, that’s awesome. I hadn’t realised the Schatz book was 100 year old.
Far-out with the Schatz download. I tried that a while ago from the Simply Circus link, but I couldn’t get it to work.
Well done scanning the figures from the book.
Great work
Cheers
