Location: Behind the couch...
Noticing that there seems to be more than a few Melbournites here in HoP... I was thinking about opening a thread solely for what's happening on the party scene. Opening this, so close to the Queens birthday holiday, I'm hoping that some people should know of a few things going down... What clubs can you twirl at...who's haven a party, and who gonna dance their little butt off till the late hours of the morning???

the melb rave scene is freak'n massive - there are several large websites and forums, and they don't even cover all the events!
last fri was a psytrance/pub demolition party in Brunswick, plus sat night was a Virus warehouse party (there were sick Nuzealanda firetwirlers performing there!)
Slinky will be big this sunday but the lineup is up to your judgement! when Psy vs. Commercial raves clashes, Ganesh crushes Aqua under her immense psychedelic weight, any ol' day of the millenmium.
www.raves.com.au lists a few, but they aren't independent.
I'd say read a dedicated forum like blulight's melbourne forum, and you'll see why melbourne is a bastard of a scene to plan around!

Drea's got n exam on 2 days after bliss3 n wont make it so I guess it's slinky this sunday. Ring me mobile dude, this be a fire site, all my rave forum stuff is in ... rave forums!

Good call Arsn, and Bender your right about the stoic melb doofer's, and the depth of entertainment in melbourne. I nearly drowned during a rave at mt macedon a few years ago, but hey, a few people still managed to keep on twirling.
So, did anyone make it to Bliss? Cause, I was wondering who the fire performers were. I've never seen professionals live before, and you just can't beat the WOW factor of fire, especially at a rave in a night club.
I was a bit judgmental at first, but in the end I thought they had put on a pretty professional performance, that included a duet and some great props like devil sticks (fantastic skills), fans, double crosses, as well as double staff, staff and poi.
Other than that, I saw a few people doing fluro type poi, and few (who brought their own glowies) doing some interesting glowsticking, but not what I would call liquid.

really nice, I can ask my nice friend if you can join in our lets-all-get-pissed-at-Phillip-Island weekend at her house. I'm making a new firetoy there... The residents at Cowes gave us an ovation the last time we got trashed twirling on the beach front...

Venue: Grand Sports & Entertainment Complex. Cnr Grieve Parade and Dohertys Road. 3rd turn-off over the west gate bridge. 10 minutes from the city by car. Melways Reference 54 G1. By train Altona Station then a short cab ride to the venue.
Doors open 10pm - late. Get there early to fully exerience the journey that will take place.
Five rooms - Nrgetic room, Genki room, Hardcore Business room, Puzzled room and the Trance4m chill. Come as you want... or who you want... and there will even be a jumping castle just for a bit more fun...
Tickets at all the main places... $37 bucks... more at the door...
