Greetings, all. I have not read any other intros yet, so maybe I'll not be the only one that stumbled upon this site as a result of seeing Faderhead's TZDV video, watching that girl twirling fire around and feeling my heart leap and thinking OMG that is so sexy I MUST learn how to do that!
So... long story short, I found this place. Plaza De Anaya (local here) does Poi classes and I am hopefully going to get started there. But if there is anything else around my area, please do point me in that direction!
Without further ado, here is your list of 'required' questions:

Toys: I didn't realize this was THAT kind of forum!
Hobbies other than the obvious: Dancing fool, online gamer, and a fledgling at the art of omphaloskepsis.
Education: Yes, I believe in it.
Favorite Book(s): Currently reading the "People" series by W. Michael Gear and Kathleen O'Neal Gear (on People of the Wolf).
Favorite Movie(s): So many... The Dark Knight, The Devil's Advocate, The Bird Cage, My Cousin Vinny, it goes on and on...
Godzilla vs. a Star Wars Star Destroyer. Who wins? Why? I'd go for the Destroyer. Godzilla smells funny.
Favorite TV show(s): Nip/Tuck, In Plain Sight, Law and Order: SVU and random court or cop shows. More into movies.
Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) If I ever do grow up I'll get back to you on this one.
Favorite Music Artists/Composers: Combichrist, VNV Nation, Faderhead, Diary of Dreams, this could go on for a bit as well, basically I'm into Industrial. Still love old rock as well, like Zep, Pink Floyd, et al.

Favorite ice cream flavor(s): Chocolate?
Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella?* OK, I have tasted the Brit Marmite, and know the Aussie Vegemite is the same thing. Just what brand of vehicle do they scrape this stuff out from under anyway? That has to be the most vile substance I've ever had the unfortunate experience of tasting *gag* - however, Nutella will win solely based on the fact it is chocolate.
So, now I am in search of teaching. I want to learn how to do what that girl in the video was doing. Probably with something non-fire to begin with eh?

Welcome.
You will learn however that to do most of the really difficult moves an appreciation for Marmite helps a great deal.
And the toys was asking about poi, staff, hoop, juggling etc....
