To celebrate the turning of the solar year and the start of the return to Summer and regular spinning meets, we will be holding a small Winter Solstice party on December 21st. The plan is also for anyone planning on going to Stonehenge for the open access at Sunrise to be able to gather and share lifts.

There'll be a mixture of trance and upbeat chillout music from DJs Dreadnaut, Christian Sky, Mif, John Miszt, Walter and Tom, and plenty of space for poi spinning, hoola-hooping and juggling plus drumming and dancing, capoeira and any other activity.

There will be a reasonably priced cafe and bar.

Doors will open around 7pm, and close around 5am in plenty of time to reach Stonehenge for opening time around 7am.

Entry by donation - suggested £3

every Friday thereafter we will be back to small meets from 7pm-11pm. If you'd like to get involved in any way, DJing, decorating, or running any kind of workshop then please email me or comment below smile

please pass it on and hopefully see you there smile

hi Rin

yes I hope this to be a permanent workshop but I need people to turn up for me to continue running it!

Come on people - this Friday - large warm indoor space - cafe - soundsystem - DJs - use it or lose it!

Not gonna make it this week, but I'll bust a gut to get there on the 11th. What's it been like last few weeks, have any of the Guildford-type people got to this?

great meet last night! we're starting to get a feel for how good this meet could be.. there were lots of new faces, great spinning, and a giant glow-in-the-dark frisbee session at the end

thanks everyone who came, and yes we did have Guildford crew smile

next week we will be upstairs only, so no soundsystem (we'll have a little stereo though) frown

but we'll be back downstairs and full power again on Feb 1st

and we are also planning to do another allnighter on Feb 29th, so put that in your diary smile

Do you need to be a really experienced spinner to come along?

I know a bit, but haven't spun for quite a while - something to do other than getting drunk in the nearest pub on a Friday night would be good though smile

You dont need to be able to do anything to go to these.
Walking would help in getting there of course, but you could always just get a taxi smile

But yes, it is much cheaper than getting drunk in a pub biggrin

indeed all levels of skill are welcome

poi spinners are a friendly bunch, so if theres anything you see someone doing that you want to learn then just ask them smile

and we do have a (semi-organic) bar, so you can have a drink as well as a spin if you want smile

Another good night on Fri, although I was a bit to bushed to be much use. I don't think pounding trance from the word go helped though, that guy played a much better set the week before. Need more bounciness! biggrin Good to see those of you that I did....

ahh sorry we missed you keyarghah! come for longer next time!

tainted: yes there are lots of meets in London at the moment - Brick Lane on Tuesdays, Greenwich on Wednesdays, Jacksons Lane on Thursdays, and this one on Fridays - we're the biggest and loudest though smile

Duballstar - sorry I wasn't there last week to oversee music policy - the idea was Paddy would play motown and blues for a couple of hours, then Fiend would play breaks, then Noize Boy would play trance for the last hour. Not sure why that didn't happen..

anyway no soundsytem tonight, though the space is still open for those who want to use it. Personally I will be at the Synergy Project at SEOne.

next week the soundsystem will be back on, and no it won't all be pounding trance (though there certainly will be some wink )

and feb 29th is looking like the date for our all night party smile

Hey well done to have a meet there. I like that space. I had my (very elderly) birthday party there in 2006! Spinning around in the back room with Meenik while the lovely TOm played VERY bouncy tunes, lotsa good memories.

That's a meet in a pub night though isn't it, not really a spin? Though I hear tell there's gonna be a new Tuesday spinny place soon.... biggrin
