Isnt it annoying when you lay staring at your clock and it gone 4 in the morning and all you wanna do is sleep?!?!

I love it when you dont get any sleep for 4 days straight and your start to see things that arnt there!
A year a go i got paranoid after having no sleep for god knows how long and saw people walking past my door when there was no one else in the house!!

Anyone else had any freaky or scary things happen to them late at night like that?
Could i have seen a ghost or just my mind playing tricks?

lets here some of your scary stories! ubbloco

I get insomnia too, sometimes if I've went too long without sleep I'll see smoke wafting about, even if there aren't cigarettes nearby. These people you saw - was it anyone you know? If it is, then it was probably just your subconscious trying to "force" a dream. If you think about it, people in dreams are usually known to the dreamer. Or maybe that's just me.

You quite often hear stories from friends about them seeing UFOs, where they explain in great detail what happened. Last year this woman I used to know talked about a party she was at where they decided to hold a seance and tables moved and glasses smashed of their own accord. All you can do is ask yourself (a) Did it sound as though they were bullshitting? (b) Is there some other explanation?

When you are in a state of exhaustion, your mind opens up to the Astral levels. You could have been seeing impressions left from eons ago or from just days before.

Every living thing has energy. When that energy is strong enough, it can leave behind a residue that can be detected by those who are sensitive to psychic impressions.

Having not slept for so long made you sensitive (why were you not sleeping by the way?)

This is just my feeling on the subject, of course. Just don't let it frighten you. No need, whatsoever.

I know I hallucinate if I'm really tired. It's usually figures too. I see them out of the corner of my eye when I'm driving, standing at the side of the road- but when I turn and look at them they disappear.

Sometimes I convince myself I can see these "orbs" as well, but I have a feeling it is probably dust in my eyes rolleyes

The student house I was living in had some weird occurances.

One night I was in my bedroom doing coursework. I suddenly heard footsteps on the staircase outside my bedroom. I called out to my housemates, somewhat puzzled that I was so distracted that I didn't hear the front door opening.

10 minutes later both of my housemates arrived home together.

Another time I was in my bathroom at the sink. The bath was to my right and at the head of the bath next to the sink there was a shampoo bottle on a ledge. Suddenly I heard the shampoo bottle hit the floor behind me. I had did nothing so knock the bottle and it didn't slip.

My housemate went to see a medium for unrelated reasons and the name 'Tim' came up in the reading. He had no idea what it meant.

One time I felt 'something' in the house with me. So just to try something I said out load "Tim? If you're there, touch the left side of my face". To my astonishment the left side of my face started tingling. So then I said "Now, touch the right side." Sure enough, the right side of my face started tingling.

Nothing else happened since but I wasn't scared. I actually found the idea of a ghost in the house quite appealing and in some ways comforting.

There are many theories about sleeping and what`s going on in your head while you sleep. It has also been proved that if a person is woken up every time he goes in to REM (rapid eye movement, it`s the state of sleeping where you "see" the dreams) state and if this is done for a couple of days he will start seeing things when he`s awake.
you could see a trashcan walking towards you or people that aren`t there (just like you described) etc.
this doesn`t mean that you`re crazy in anyways, it just means that you havn`t been able to go trough things in your sleep, or even that your brain is "full" and you havn`t gotten rid of useless information in your sleep.
as i said, there are many theories, but what you´ve experienced should be completely normal.
So no worries smile

We had a spirit in our house,

1) my sister asked me what i was doing at home in my lunch break (i used to go home alot in my lunch break) she had heard me walking down the hall and start to fill up the sink in the kitchen. I easn't at home that day.

2) my brother in law woke up to find this lady standing at the end of his bed.

3) we found out that a lady who owned the house before us had hung herself in one of the rooms so we had the house cleansed and never saw or heard from her again.

Some people can see these things, most kids "imanginary friends" are the spirits we sometimes see but as you get older you block out alot of things and only really see them when you are not totally awake?

Neon - i find your Tim quite amazing, do you know who Tim is?

Oh Slothy. I may have been bad. I may have kept you chained up in that room but it was for your own good

Either I have a monster in my kitchen or I'm completely crazy

Sometimes i can't sleep either and I see outlines of people.
It's like there is a sheet of clingfilm and people are pressing themselves against it as they walk past, so i just see the opaque outlines.

I have a few supernatural stories to tell but my favourite one is of the time mum and I went to Paris.
It was just after her and my dad's pearl wedding anniversary and my dad had bought her a pair of pearl earrings. She took them to Paris but on the first night she lost them. All weekend she was panicking and we searched high and low for them.
I have a strong belief in angels and told mum that if she asked the angels to please find her earring and thank them in advance, then it will be found. "Nothing can be lost in the eyes of God," I said.

So on the last day after walking around Paris we returned to our hotel room. The curtains were closed but there was a crack of sunlight beaming light onto a tiny spot on the carpet, there in the light was my mum's missing pearl earring!

There is no way we would have missed it because we searched the floor so thoroughly. smile She said thankyou to the angels and I believe they continue to help me all the time smile

I hallucinate when I'm sleep-deprived for about two days. I was once convinced I saw Tony Robinson and the Time Team excavating the end of my garden.

Our new house makes tapping sounds at night. I like to think it's trying to tell me stuff in morse but it's probably possums in the roof space.

There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.

hahahaha, my house makes sounds too, i always think my phone is vibrating, but usually it's switched off...!

i don't hallucinate too much when i'm tired i just tend to get lost in my own thoughts - which admiteldy are usally stranger than normal.

i work in a converted mill (it's offices now) and while i was in a meeting yesterday i got totally lost thinking about what i must have been like to work here when it was a mill still... but the images were so vivid.

i got an early night after that!

When I worked in Waterstones in Newbury, most of the staff had seen ghosts. They'd told me their stories about it and, as the building was really old i could believe it.

One day I was knelt on the floor sorting some books out when a guy was stood next to me, I looked up and said "I'll be with you in one minute Sir, I'm just sorting out this mess".
His feet didn't move the whole time and it freaked me out, when I looked up again to help him there was no one there. There was no one in the entire upstairs where I worked!

i remember my aunt telling us about seeing something when she woke up in the night once.
not long after my nan had moved house, we were all staying there and she said she woke up in the night and could swear she saw a highway man on his horse in front of my nans house.
my nans house is in the middle of shropshire and used to be a coaching inn. we later foundout that the road my nans house was on was once one of the main roads towards london and that there were actually a lot of highwaymen that used to 'work' along that strech of road.
not sure if my aunt did actually see something or if it was just the tiredness!

I sometimes feel a tap on my shoulder when there's no one eve near. It's not a feeling or a tingling, it's a proper tap.

A few years ago, I was home alone, I went to sleep as always. Normal routine of switching off the lights and closing my bedroom door. I woke up around 3am to find my door open and all the lights on! My father worked nights and only came home after 6am but I called him to ask if he had been home for some reason. He hadn't! I like to believe I had been sleepwalking.

Ask a question and be a fool for a minute...don't ask and be a fool your whole life.
