The simple fact that they come with a recharging dock should be cool enough, but I want to see them in action!
Can I get a link to a video of someone spinning oggpoi?

I used to have a real cheap set of 3 glowing balls, they were sold as some designery room lighting. The recharging 'dock' looked exactly the same as in the picture for those poi.
They were only 10 uk pounds for 3. They were great for a while, faded thru the full spectrum just like those ones. They broke within about a month tho, well the first big party i went to.
They look remarkably similar to those ones, but i'm not sure.
Been looking for a nice new set of glo poi for a while, so tell me if they are any good.

BTW I bought the same things, span them in nets on string, only I found they kept on shifting weight as they turned round inside the nets, made them impossible to spin properly, the Ogg design is a much better idea. Also Flashpoint has some slightly different home made ones.
From what I remember they do look pretty when they're spinning, leaving a really nice bright trail behind them. I think they're in one of Khan's videos 'a spin in the life' which can be found [Old link]
A friend of mine (GypsyBright on here) has some, I think. I would say be careful of the plastic bit, that can break pretty easily, but having that on the opposite side to the string attachment means that the weight feels ok, although personally I find them a bit light. They're a lot brighter than the things that Oddballs sells, I don't know if that gives you a point for comparison?

these look like ones i've seen Meenik Nick spinning.
They looked and easily as bright as aerotechs. They have a really lovely smooth slow color changing effect.
although i dunno about the egg shape personally
i think Roger Orbit was bigging up Flowtoys to me a while back too, and he's got good taste in toys.

and for the cash I'll save, I'll attach my own hardware and strings.

havent tried these but oggs do hurt a lot if they hit you (i have siblings if that explains things) very bright and mesmerising though!

The ogg is a soft rubbery plastic, it's squeezable like a soft rubber ball. The other glow poi I've spun are hard plastic and they definitely hurt more.

wow what a pretty video! except after a minute i stopped thinking "wow arnt oggs great", and started thinking "my god i need to learn straightjackets"...so off i go *runs to a bigger bit of bedroom...far far away from the lamp*

thanks. my flowers and general movement needs a lot of work i think. I think they are called crosses, straight jackets are where the 'other' arms is tucked under the elbow (which i cant do)

The trick is just the timing, whatever hand needs to go under the other elbow... just wait for the down swing, stickout your elbow and as the hand comes up, tuck under your elbow into your armpit and start twisting your torso a bit more than you have been for normal crossers. Honestly though, the move looks nearly the same and the audience can't really tell any difference. This is onea those moves that is really only impressive to yourself so you can say you did it ;-)
Now to really impress someone, do a btb straightjacket... Can't do those myself i have this pesky problem of shoulderblades that don't want to snap in half... stupid bones...
But yes, nice spinning Geeza. Btw, you should not be even more glad you affixed them with the 2 hole near bottom method I told you about because my oggz from flowtoys just broke. I was doing a slow and easy wallplane antispin flower and just caught the tip of the plastic on the bottom against the other one and it cracked, dislodging the LED and sending the lil metal contacts on the bottom flying off into space. So now i'm down 1 Ogg
Think I'll get my next set like yours.

I had a set of oggz and I loved them.
I learnt a very valuable lesson- dont give them to / have them taken off you by a very drunk person other wise they will come back to you with the loop the handle attached to no longer attached to the ogg.
How ever they were fun to play with and fairly bight.
If you are ordering them for use in the UK you will need to buy a transformer thingy as the connection for the charger comes fitted for US sockets and a lower voltage to what is used in the uk

My customised ones are going to be sold, maybe put on ebay, once my hyperlights arrive. Triple oggz pack, 2 of which have had holes punched in, with brass rings fitted with a cord through so they can easily be attatched to cords.
