Hey guys. I've been a member for a few weeks now, just lurking about >.< but now I feel it's time to introduce myself. So... yeh...

Occupation(s): Student. I'm studying Artificial Intelligence. Sounds fancy, but it's not lol.
Favourite Food(s): It used to be pasta, but being a student it's all eat so I'm sick of it. Indian food's the best.
Favourite Colour(s): Black, red, blue.
Toys: My poi, my iPod.
Hobbies other than the obvious: Music, poi, going out.
Education: Student. See above :-).
Favourite Book(s): I don't read all that much. I should get back into it really. I've recently read "Dan Brown - Da Vinci Code" and "Dan Brown - Digital Fortress".
Favourite Movie(s): Matrix, Fight Club, Donnie Darko, Human Traffic.
Favourite TV show(s): 24, Green Wing, Red Dwarf, Phoenix Nights.
Plans for life in general: Get a job in robotics, build Terminator, take over the world and move to the Japanese mountains.
Favourite Music: I'll listen to just about anything. Rock to hip-hop to d'n'b to trance and everything in between.
Favourite Artists/Composers: The Mars Volta, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Deftones, Dilated Peoples, Roni Size, Aphrodite, Tiga, Tiefschwarz, James Zabiela... these sort of things can go on forever!
Favourite ice cream flavour(s): Has to be rum and raisin, everytime!
And I'm a Marmite man, can't get enough of it!
So yeh, that's me I guess. I've been spinning for about two months now, quite infrequently too, and I've picked it up surprisingly quick. Looking at one of the threads in the Social Chat forum it sounds as if people like me piss you off hehe.

I'm one of those quick learner types too when i've got people to show me... So as long as it doesn't take you less than a couple of weeks to get the behind the back weave i'll stay happy ;-) (that one's giving me a bit of a a hard time at the moment...)

actually... i think it's just my lack of flexibility holding me back on that one... i know what i'm supposed to do, and my hands do the right action... but i just can't seem to bend around far enough and so i keep hitting myself in the boobs... it's not much fun...

Yeh, flexibility is a big thing. The way I learnt it was to kinda wiggle my ass lol, and kinda lean/turn my body the oppsite way the poi is coming round. That way as the poi comes up and past your leg and side it's a bit further away so they don't get caught. Also, what helped me hugely was keeping my hands quite high up my back so I could reach further around myself.

I've just seen in the Events forum there was a meet in Manchester just over a week ago! Damn Easter, wish I'd stayed in Manchester now instead of coming home. Would've loved to meet some new people.
