well...im not big on trance but theres loadsa different genres u could dapple in...eg..progressive, hard, dream, goa, deep trance, tech trance haha and acid trance (good ole tb303)...vocal trance, euro trance, classic trance.etc etc.maybe..sasha and digweed, paul van dyke, armin van buuren..slacker, deep dish.maybe even the klf! if u want a compilation try the global underground stuff..and then u can check the back for a particular tune u like..ehh..if ure more interested in the label than the artist trance labels like hooj choons, perfecto, armada, 3beat or bedrock should have some good trance stuff on it..but again it al depends on ure taste in trance! anyway, im useless with trance but if ure ever looking for some excellant electro techno booty etc then id be happy to assist. hope this helps! happy dancing!! x (dear god just read over my message...what a geek!)

I second the Global Underground suggestion. I have number of those releases and really like them. Favorites are Sasha's San Franciso and Digweed's Hong Kong sets.

Ha ha, nope none of the artists mentioned were said genres! electro, techno and booty are three different kinds of music. all good though. do u download tunes a lot? that makes it a lot easier to find gold dust tracks that you unlikely to find unless you go into a particular record shop. sk x

I don't really download very much, but I might be able to get my friend to get me some songs.......maybe??? (not my computer)
Anyway, are there any that you CAN find in stores? As far as record shops here. I doubt there are any, maybe on the other side of the island. I'll have to check it out. All I have over here is Borders book store, but I have found their music selection to be lacking. What are some things that you recomend?
biggrin

the folks mentioned in my first post to you are my reccomendations, haha "bender" you are right big up the psychedelic trance! reach for the lasers and all that. you should be able to find some compilations in the shops somewhere but its usually commercial sort of stuff your most likely to get, which depending on your taste could be good. let me know how you get on though. is it just listening to it you like or is there good clubs where you are? if so, ask the dj's what they are playing and where they get their records from. sk x

I don't think it classifies as trance, more electronica and dance, but the Hard House Euphoria albums are bouncing.

I would go to the twisted record lable (I'm not sure of the address but do a google search). You can buy stuff on there and most of it is really good. All cds have a write up so you can check that its the more upbeat stuff as opposed to the chilled stuff. Then it will give you ideas of names of cds...

Slicing the Loaf as we speak.

I need it..... Trust me!

if u go to www.boomkat.com you can find ridiculous amounts o good music, not really trance though....not sure if they deliver worlwide but its worth a check. i recommend, ellen allien, modeselektor, marco passarani, akufen and millions more.....it gives u the option to listen to samples of the songs and also shows you what other people bought that bought the records u bought! sk xx

Philosomatika is also really good for Psytrance. Also check out BT (the dj) for some really chilling out tunes.

here you can download a few Psy Trance mixes if you have quite a fast connection (theyre big files).

i havent downloaded the Part 1 and 2 ones from Baraka in oxford yet but i remember it being pretty good at the time.

not all the mixes are available for download, so you'll just have to try em out smile
