hey, i'm jo i recently got some poi and i'm moving to nottingham in september to go to nottingham trent uni and i'd like to know if there are any poi spinners or any such related hobbied peoples there. i've been told it's easier to progress with poi if you learn from some one else? soooo any experienced poi spinners?

some where in events there are a couple of threads, if u can't find em give a pm to: lauz the caterpiller, lil miss snoop, flaming deity
they all love there and should know whats what (they are also all very cool)

There are plenty of us spinny types lying around Nottingham. We congregate on the Goose Fair site every Thursday from about 8 or 8.30 onwards to just generally meet up, discuss tricks and ,oh yeah, engage in general casual pyromania.
You'll find we're all quite happy to share knowledge so they'll be no problem with picking up new stuff and yes you're right, it is deffinately much easier to learn poi when there's someone to show you "what's next"

There should be people around from sort of 7:30ish onwards but tonight we're going to be finding refuge in another venue due to Goose Fair being set up
People will be congregating on the Goose Fair site and then deciding where to go from there.

lol tis not good. did you not label boxes and group things. i always do that if we move. makes life easier for me when i un pack.
shall be really cool to have another notts spinner. we have loads already but you can never have too many. the more the better. you shall be warned though we do stay out in the worst of weather conditions because were hardcore (we dont really all huddle under a big blanket to keep warm)

he kept nicking my poi and throwing them at ppl last week lol
no wonder i havnt learnt more than the basics my son dont give me the chance
and i cant get my head round the dvd ive pratically given up tonight now after reading the forum with what everyone can do 7 bt weaves and all that

dont worry i've been at it half a year and can only do 3bt weave butterfly giant butterfly giant weave butterfly variation thread the needle chasing sun hip and shoulder reels and a basic air wrap i just move around alot so it looks like i'm good and also put stalls into it. works a treat. lol

i tried the chasing sun and i jus cant do it got in a huff tonight watching the dvd for it
had my poi a year but not had many goes at it was at summer camp in july i learnt most of what i can by someone showing me and they had better poi
i ordered some sock poi off here last night so jus see if they better than my balls on string ones lol

I'm also from nottingham but haven't yet made it to the thursday night do...
pound me with turnips as punishment. Now!!
If anyone's interested, I'm normally at nottingham square on saturdays doing poi/diabolo... my poi are cobra IIs, yellow and black. Plan to be there tomorrow from around 12:30...
There appears a flight of dragons without heads. Good fortune.
