*ahem*

(I've never been quite sure how to do these "instant introductions". Let's try this:)

Hullo to one and all!

(Well that wasn't so bad! What else can I come up with...)

I'm a SWM who enjoys golf and-

(No! Wrong BB! Take 2!)

During orientation week at my new colege I happened upon a crowd of kids spinning and burning and having a great time. Transfixed, I trotted out the next day, bought some poi, and spent nearly 12 consecutive hours teaching myself the 3 beat weave, butterfly, and direction changes. The next day I could barely move my hands and wrists. 3 weeks later I was playing with real fire.

(Better! Keep going.)

That was three years ago. Sadly, about a year ago I hit a plateau - I haven't gotten better in a long time. It's time, I feel, to find a teacher, some guru or another who can help me overcome whatever is stopping me.

I spend the rest of my time trying to meet new people, make friends, and love as much as I can. I practice tai chi. I'm an aspiring bicycle mechanic and avid cyclist. I have a keen love for both American ice cream and Italian gelato, both of which I make in my home. I love science fiction and fantasy literature, role playing games, kayaking, weight lifting, knitting, and over-intellectualizing things for the joy of having a working brain.

I suppose that'll do it. I welcome anybody to get in touch with me - my favorite facet of the internet is the facilitation of interpersonal communication.

Ciao a tutti!

And hello to all of you! Or is it redundant to say hello again? In any case, I feel welcomed - gratzie!

I should, perhaps, clarify that I'm not just here on HOP to find a guru - there seem to be so many of them about, I'm learning more than I have in years just by reading old posts! Some of y'all ("Glass" and "Dantana" in particular) are really bending my brain and I've only been here for 12 hours or so...

My compliments to all the people spending their time trying to explain their art - it is an admirable thing you do!

*briefly baffled* Erh, paracetamol? What might that be? It sounds rather like an explosive, and I'm a little disconcerted by that! wink

I'm quite well, thanks! I'm getting close to finding my btb 3bt and standard 5 bt weaves. Blistered fingers aside, my mood is fantastic! Maybe that has something to do with the risotto I'm making for supper, though....

The answer is, startlingly enough: yes, please!* Either or both would be delightful!

Thanks for the welcomes, Star and PyroWill (Pyro? Will? Rowi?)!

*Note: The author does not asume that you have either such that you're willing to part with it, simply admits that he would be delighted were, really, anybody to give him quantities of the specified items.
