Name : Ross

Age : 18

Sex : Male

Location : York University

Toys : Staff, relatively large (about 5ft), some very incompetant juggling!

Been Twirling For : Not long at all! I already knew how to use a quarterstaff, so it seemed a natural progression to set fire to it and spin it around, instead of hitting other people with it...

Occupation : student, occasional philosopher and general listener to anyone with problems.

Other Hobbies? : Painting models (Sadly discontinued at Uni through lack of space), Reading fantasy or Sci-Fi, Computer stuff. Why does all of this make me sound like such a geek and an NF??? I'm really not ubbangel

Colour: Red

Book: Err. Far, Far too many to list. (I read on average 3 books a week. Anyone want to calculate my average for the last 7 yrs?)

Film : Far too many again. Avid Star Wars fan (Old Trilogy) Most other Sci-Fi. Minority Report was good, so are many others...

Twirling Moment: Hitting a Cyclist in the Neck and knocking him off his bike... Sorry mate!

Yeah, um, been hanging around the chat rooms for a while now, but realised I might as well make a decent effort to say "Hi" to everyone on the website.

HI EVERYONE!!

(And the first person to say "Hi Dr Nick" I will personally shoot. I kid you not) devil

Hello there, Welcome to h0p. I see you like the old star wars stuff? you not a fan of the new stuff? I'm not sure of the new star wars stuff it's just so much more advanced then the old stuff so it kinda seems like they aren't really prequals.

Glad we got that out of the way. Yeah I like the Original SO much better than the new ones. (Mainly because no-one in the prequels can act, and the plot sucks, and the Dialogue is just as bad in Ep 3 as it ever was in Ep 4. Anakin: "They don't seem so bad to me..." *shoots the script writer*)

I don't actively dislike Pink, but that's no reason why i can't like you...

peace

And the folks in the originals CAN act?

What is it that makes Star Wars so good? Everyone knows it's the jedi. Now compare the amount of cool jedi stuff in the latest 3 to the amount of jedi stuff in the original 3. The fight scenes are much better choreographed, there's a lot more force power stuff, double-bladed lightsabres, YODA, more jedis in general (mostly cos they're still alive for most of it). What's so good about the originals the actors really weren't that great.

But enough of that. Nice to know there's another GW geek on the forums.

Damn the addictiveness of forums! (Or should it be addictivity?)

It says you're myopic? Myopic eh? According to the Oxford English Dictionary it means lack of imagination or insight. That's a pretty low opinion of yourself you've got there.

Haha!! Yes, that's right. You know me. How does he know my SN? Well, aha, I know everything. I even know what myopic means you narrow minded person with no imagination. Age has no relevance. I am the wisdomous one.

I like your sig. I'm a big fan of David Gemmell's writing and Druss is one of my favourite characters. Have you read Legend of the White Wolf?

Sorry, sorry. I haven't posted or even checked here for a while, because after I got 5 posts and dropped off the second page no-one else would be interested in me...

Nice to see I was wrong (for once wink )

Monkeynamedspank: Yes, but the fighting doesn't MEAN anything in Eps 1-3. With 4-6 it's all about Luke and his confrontation with his father. There's no emotional involvement with the Jedi in Ep 2+3. They've overdosed on lightsabers. With the Originals, and partly with Ep 1, then the focus was always on the individuals, and their struggle vs the Dark Side. You lose that with so many faceless Jedi that no-one cares about.

Flowpossum: It means that I use one pointlessly long and obscure word when 3 simple ones would do...

Thistle: I'm A Gemmel fan through and through. I've read *almost* all of his books. I love the contrast between Druss and the other Heros in the novels.

yoni: Yes, we should demand a section all to ourselves. "Only people with single page intros allowed here"... might be pretty short lived though, cos as soon as you hit 2 pages you're booted out! ubbrollsmile

Thanks to everyone again for saying hi!

And sorry about that Yoni, maybe you can forget the association if you ignore it long enough...

Have you lost again yet? biggrin

@kyrian: The game is thus:

you're always playing. but when you think about it, you lose. When you lose, you have to tell everyone you lost. I think that's pretty much how it works.

Hey Kyri, if you're ever seeing this, then feel free to drop me a note. Sorry I haven't been on messenger much, I'm actually having to be busy these days. Not with work mind you, but with looking for a house. eek Next year you'll be in halls and I'll be off-campus! How sucky is that?

Hello to everyone else who bothered to wander in here, your efforts are appreciated and will be forgotten shortly wink ubblol

Take Care. hug
