Hello, I am new to this site and relatively new to poi. I was first attracted to poi two years ago when I watched someone spinning at a Halloween party. I was totally enraptured with this art and have been since. I learned the basics of poi at P.S.G. 2004 and am waiting to light up until I go back in June of this year. I am also interested in dance, photography, writing poetry, and have also recently taken up martial arts. I would eventually like to learn the staff as well, but one thing at a time 
I live in Illinois, where I am somewhat of an oddity. In more populated areas of the USA poi is well known, but here people think I am somewhat crazy for wanting to "play with fire."I asked my mother for fire poi, but she refused to get them for me...she feared I would start myself on fire. :rolls eyes: I Love fire, but am respectful and cautious to this mutable element. I have always had a love for dance as well, so poi is the perfect match! Well, enough rambling...

How do? Not sure where you're located, but you should try to keep in contact with the Unity Tribe, and definitely with Dawn Miceli. Rinne and I make it back to the midwest every once in a while, maybe we can arrange some big pagan poi blowout some time before PSG... If not, we'll see you then!

To answer your question Pink, I do not really care for pink myself, but it is a rather pretty color for others. :O) Patrick, I have started Kung fu, but am in the very early stages of learning. James, are you talking about the Unity tribe in Savanna? I would like to talk more about this Unity tribe and a pagan poi blowout would be awesome! Once again thanks for the welcome!
