Strawberries and chocolate... hmmmmmmmmmmm! Those 2 shouldn't even be allowed in a combination, that's just too good!

KatB and Molly, This is MY intro thread, and he's already agreed to be my personal red man, too... [how does that feel, 3 girls fighting over you? wink]

Been to the doc just now and got one of those wrist-thingies, so shall try it out tonight and hope it will get better. Had another night with not much sleep, so keep your fingers crossed that the thing will work. I'm currently at the point where I lie down and fall asleep straight away simply because I'm so dead tired, then the stupid hands wake me up most of the time frown

(Bad mood, skip this entry if you want... just have to get it off my chest)

My mum just phoned me to say that my cousin died today. He was just past 40, and had Parkinson's. Apparently he was doing quite well today given how bad he's been sometimes, and then when my aunt went into his flat to tell him lunch was ready he was lying there dead frown

He's leaving his wife and two boys, they're 16 and 12 I think, haven't seen either of them in quite a while. I can't imagine how it is to see your dad dying of something like Parkinson's when you're so young, and I only remember my cousin as a huge man who was full of energy and always joking. He wasn't ill for that long, apparently with younger people Parkinson's proceeds much quicker, and that he would've died of it so soon seems strange, I know a few old people who've had it for 5-10 years and are still alive. Still, maybe it was better for him to go now than to die slowly over a long time and make his sons witness it.

But I'm in a horrible "What sense does that make" mood frown I also wish I could've seen him before he died, but he mostly kept away from people in the last 2 years, because he didn't want to be pitied, and only few people knew he was sick at all, not even all our family. When he finally asked his mother to tell everyone and went to family birthday parties etc again I was already here in Scotland.

The last memory I actually have of him is when I was on a date in a pizzeria, and he came in to get some take-aways, and I was hiding behind the date because I didn't want my parents to know about him yet! How silly does that seem now!!

Thanks Kat smile hug

It's been a strange day... I decided to not go to choir tonight because the prospect of concentrating hard for 2 hours and singing while trying to smile just didn't appeal. Instead I went to Beltane practice on Calton Hill.

I felt a bit guilty at times thinking I should've stayed at home and been sad instead of playing on a hill, but that won't bring my cousin back and feeling even worse won't do anyone any good - I've cried my tears for him, there may be more tomorrow, but not now.

I'm also quite pleased with myself for finding out that my feelings about someone I thought I might feel weird about or be angry at (sorry about being cryptic, but it's too public!!) are unexpectedly neutral and friendly, whether that is because there's bigger problems on my mind or it's the spirit of Beltane or I'm just growing up I couldn't tell you but it's good smile

You dont need to feel guilty about getting out there and being active. I dont know a single person that would want me to sit at home mierable because they had passed on.

Growing up is fun isnt it? Im gonna try it myself one of these days. Not to much though or people will start expecting me to behave myself wink

how many double entendres can you fit in a telephone box?

A woman walks into a bar (ouch :loco), and asks the barman "can I have a double entendre?"

So the barman gives her one.

story-telling! it's also actually quite obvious I think, so I'll not tell you and let you find out biggrin

yeah... I doubt it... last years was obvious if you already knew...

And I can't believe you quoted that bit without saying "NO, Birgit, you're NOT crap!" compliment-fishing gone wrong... wink

I can't remember ever seeing you with a staff tongue
But I am sure that your version of "crap" compared to the audience's view is vastly different... and besides we know you'll be ace on the night wink
