Word of mouth, busking, agents (only paid on gigs aquired), targetted mailouts to big corporations, busking, busking and more busking...

Oh, and busking...

i would love to do busking... but here in the usa the cops are so far up our back side we can barely light a freaking cig

Hmmm... one of the downshots of living in a liberal state. In Texas you can pretty much burn wherever you want (providing there is no burn ban due to draught).

In my experience, most gigs are spawned by previous gigs. Do look into getting an agent though. Maybe you can find one through a dance studio (esp. belly dancing), as there will sometimes be dancers that hire out and the sort of things they get hired for arre no so different than ones you might be able to do (weddings receptions, festivals, business picnics).

And word of mouth. Many gigs do come from a friend of a friend who happens to hear something.

Get pics of yourself in the local paper, if you live in a small enough community. People will be impressed and want to find out more - you could get the paper to run an e-mail addy for "bookings" next to a big pic of you doing fire.

That's what we're gonna do when we're ready. And the paper will definitely run it - they once printed a picture of my old band in a doctored photo where we're kissing a talking monkey. Twats.

What a wonderful miracle if only we could look through each other's eyes for an instant.

we have gotten lots of gigs from other gigs and we comonley work with belly dancers. its just in the winter time its harder to find work because there are less events going on.
so i was looking for a way to get wide ban advertizment

I, and pretty much every fire performer I know, look at winter as either a time to practice or travel (I can't really do the latter having a regular day job) and accept that gigs are few and far between. That was true even in Texas and South Africa even, where the winters are pretty mild (and especially true here in Berlin!), and I suspect that hold for Cali too to some extent.

yeah verry few gigs in the winter but i need gigs thats how i pay my rent
