OK I hear about this "Nutella" phenomenon often on these boards... could someone hook me up with a recipe? That way I'd know what you're all talking about

It's not a recipe. Go to your local supermarket and ask them if they have it. If not, ask them to order it; it's not that uncommon.

Just be sure you're sitting down the first time you try it.

::hugs Brody and hands him a crepe::

Hi there !!! please follow the wise words of our dear Mike ginny and go check your local supermarket.
Basically it is a hazelnut / chocolate spreading (for bread, cakes, crepes/pancakes etc...) or I just sometimes even eat it with a spoon

it's real real good so pleas echeck it out and let us know

as for why Nutella on this site... I think it started about a year ago when we argued about Marmite (a spreadable evil vegetable "thing" ) and nutella came up as the good remedy against Marmite (i have actually had the sad experience once in the UK of mistaking marmite for nutella for breakfast ... I'm feeling better now, thanks to 10 years of heavy psychotherapy

ANYWAY ... hope you're one of the nutella fans

Ray ... you did not get it yet hope it gets to you today !!!!

anyway an AMAZING recipe for nutella and bananaanananananas (sorry..got a bit carried away! ;-) ) is when you next have or bbq or a maybe using the grill.....get a banana and cut it length ways with a sharp knife. next get as much nutella and cram, pack and wedge it all in the gap in the banana you made (the gap, not the banana). wrap it in silver foil. MAKE SURE THAT THE SHINY SIDE IS ON THE INSIDE <-----VERY IMPORTANT,

Now I'm really hungry, I wish I wasn't at work when I read these threads all the time...

I often eat nutella with a spoon, and I eat marmite with a spoon too! Makes my smile look horrible but it seriously is worth it.

Dr Jimbo. Know mixing the two forms of ambrosia...have yet to try that...thanks for the tip

This is sort of off-topic (heaven forbid! An off-topic post on HOP! ), but anyone notice how if you want to have a thread get really long really fast, all you have to do is include one of the following four words in the title?

Nutella
Marmite
Vegemite
Sex

having jus moved across the atlantic to sunny (very) canada perhaps someone can answer a vital question (nuttella related). Can you get frerro roche (sp?) over here - type of chocolate with crappy adverts in the uk but which most importantly is filled with nuttella - kinda like a chocolate flavour bomb - its the BEST way to get your nuttella fix.

in reply to the nutmeg thing if you have enough it will make you trip.....it is another one of natures hallucenogenic drugs....i have seen it for sale at natural high shops and stalls here.....be careful though cause too much will kill you ie a whole clove.... though the high is actualy quite nice....good for energy levels too....my friends swears by his own special morning milkshake to get him up and kicking...it contains nutmeg. fruit. coconut milk of normal milk and some other stuff....have tried one and you bounce for hours.....hope that helps
