Hello wave

Name: Molly (or Caro in a different world)

Age: 24, but it's my silver jubilee soon smile

Location: Lovely Edinburgh, oh it says that over there... But born and bred a Londoner.

Occupation: PhD student (entymology and bacteriology - ie. mash flies and see what's going on in their bellies. mmmm.) Oh, and part-time Queen.

Toys: BLUEBELL the most gorgeous blue blue tech ubblove Tulip my beautiful contact stick, poi and a sadly neglected devilstick. I think it had angel sticks with it somewhere (firey handsticks as well as a firey devilstick) but haven't played with them for so long.... and of course, young molly mole, who aspires to great juggling prowess, but is hampered by the shortness of her paws and the complete absence of the ability to hold anything with just one paw. She is the little furry blur that is my avatar, in her christmas incarnation as the mole of war.

Hobbies: Beltane Fire Society, the slack hippy calendar of my life. Dancing, most especially swing. contact girl is the way forward, if only I could get round the friction burns. Gardening, herbs and vegetables mostly. There's only so much you can do with a daffodil. Sewing stuff, costumery especially. Camping, brewing, jam and CAKE ubblove

Favourite colour (before anyone asks... you know who you are):

blue but yes pink is fine and dandy, it even tried to take over my world for a week in August when my little niece was born smile

um, that'll do I think...

oh one more thing,

I had the immense pleasure of meeting quite a few HoP-folk round and about this summer and if they are anything to go by, you are all beautiful lovely people hug

what a fabby place ubblove

now, tea and cake all round and cushions aplenty

I don't have ready access to a mole. I have a tortoise but she's a beloved family pet and i'm sure that in order to get any warmth from what is essentially a cold blooded creature such as a tortoise you really have to get into the inner workings.....

Once whilst my dad was watching tv he heard a funny noise and found that there was a large hedgehog making a nest under his sofa.

oh wait, i see. If you actually read the whole thread it all begins to make slightly less sense. There is actually a mole. I'll stop looking quite so baffled now.

I have a monkey. His name is Bugis. he is this tall *hold hands at Bugis distance apart* and he likes to show people his feet.

Valura is in love with him. and sometimes he sits on UCOF's head to watch films...

ok maybe that doesn't happen often. But the important thing is erm something....
where am i?

Cantus, the mole is pictured in 'Molly' 's avatar.

The mole's name is Molly.
Molly's name is not.

And Tulip is Molly's staff, but Molly has no staff cuz Bluecat said he would make her a small one but hasn't.

See?

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

yes.

Clear as something quite clear.

Did you hear about Arsn's concentrate staff?

He wanted the 4 inch wicks replaced with 2 inch ones. so he took it to a local fire toys shop and asked them to cut it in half and replace it.

They cut the staff in half.

They said they thought it "was a little odd" when he asked them to do it.....

Hello!

To everyone, and the mole, and the monkey, and the tortoise.

I have a jackdaw on my head at the moment. Does that count?

(No, it can't count, it's only a jackdaw!)

I am scared witless of being near birds. I am fine if they are outside and not flapping near me but if they are in the house or flying at me I get really freaked out. Jackdaws have no fear. They don't fly away when you come near them. They just stare at you until you are really close and then they fly at you. If there is an injured Jackdaw near you the others mob you. I know this because the cat I used to have caught a jackdaw and in my attempt to save the bird I was attacked by 50 others. That cat also caught one once and brought it in the house through the cat flap and left it hopping around. I had to get my sister over to get it out. She took it to the vet and they said it was fine and let it go and it flew away. I was late for work because I couldn't come down stairs whilst it was there.

All of this I know is not the Jackdaws fault. I have the same fear of moths and butterflies. I know they can't hurt me but I just have this utter overwhelming fear of them when they get close to me. Stupid I know, but I don't seam to be able to do anything about it.

As a toddler Beccie found that chasing pigeons at her auntie got a great reaction so she would do it even more despite me explaining to her they scared me. She kept on running at them and giggling as I squealed. She is 13 now and if I take her to town shopping she still does it for old time sake. Aren't nieces great

I've heard that about jackdaws/corvids, but never experienced it.
We got ours because my bloke went to get some milk and spotted it at the side of the road, injured and about to be roadkill/catkill.
When he picked it up there was another one calling from the top of a lamp post but it didn't attack.
We though we could fix it and let it go.
No, turned out it was just a young one and it was blind in one eye. We think it had been shot with an air gun.
The vet wanted to put it down but when we said we'd keep it she said we could never let it go because it would never survive.
That was 2 years ago and we still have it. Over time the side of its head sort of got more deformed, but it's a happy little thing, although it does tend to crap a lot.
We are well fond of it.
It's a shame that you are scared of birds, they can be really nice.

rant rant rant!!! I come back from a lovely convention, with the beautiful Molly (well not actually Molly, she's gone missing, but I think you know what I mean, and if you don't get out of this thread you don't deserve to read it.)
ANYWAY, where's all the Molly-talk, what's this about Jackdaws and how does this relate to Molly?!

I would just like to add that if we alll hope and prey.... no wait, those bloody Jackdaws again...er pray, then we can find the mole and salvage this terrible situation.

NB: more about Molly (the big Caro-like one)

And I dont mean big in the vast sense, more as a comparison to the mole.

Stop now, quiet time for Laura I think.

I think I've found your Mole. She is doing a BUPA ad on the TV. She probably used her huge fee for doing this Ad to go on holiday and is as we speak laying in a hammock on the island somewhere in the south seas. Maybe she'll send you a postcard. biggrin
