Hello,
I'm Helen, 25 years old from Dublin, Ireland. I currently work in a library restoring historic maps, but as of this Friday, i will be jacking that in to go travelling, starting with Burning Man
I've been spinning poi for a couple of years now, and playing with a fire wheel (thanks Squarefish!). I lurked for ages on HOP because i was shy
but recently i've had the pleasure of meeting a lot of the other Irish spinners who post here, and i've realised what i was missing out on by not getting to know more of you lovely people 
I'll be camped with the Paddy Mirage at Burning Man, so please come over for a pint if you're around!
Hope to meet more of you (and pick up a few tricks
)

Thanks for the well-wishing for Burning Man, it was excellent, wouldn't change a thing. Psycho lemming, it was great to meet you. Check out the website for the New Zealand juggling convention in March, may see you there if not before. I do miss Ireland though. All the juggling clubs have started up again....ah well, i'm on the other side of the world, it's all good.

Hi Poiple
i thought i'd bounce my thread, to explain the fact that i have changed my HOP name. Never really like Rosmerta anyway, and Helen of poi has been my cheesy performance (in so far as i do ever perform) name for a while now, so it just made sense. To me anyway.
I'm also no longer working in a library - thank god!
I'm currently in Picton, New Zealand, managing the jugglers' rest backpackers, so i have to some degree managed to run away and join the circus. 
Although i'm still a crap juggler 
Hellos to all the lovely spinners i've met in NZ - in particular Stripy cat, and Psycho lemming. And hellos to all the lovely spinners from home that i miss - Clare, Lisa, Ado-p, Sarah, Martin, Barry, Laudie..... Glad to see you're actually using my fireland mailing list for fundraisers and stuff
And finally, hellos to all the lovely spinners i haven't met yet

Damn right it's a one way ticket! i don't tend to plan stuff much. i only decided the other day that i would go to Australia then, rather than in six months time. i have a year's working holiday visa, but i'm not sure how long i'll be there for. Until i stop having fun, or run out of money - whichever comes first!
