Hello,
Slightly bored sod ecided to tell you all the fascinating story of my latest injury, ok we've all been there so lets not say we havent but I was spinning slightly under the influence of alcohol *ahem* and threw the staff up and happened to have miss judged the landing by a clear foot, how i did that i have no idea and the metal bit right in the centre of the wick it me straight in the forehead, so now i have a nice lil slice in the middle of my head, lovely,
Anyone else with a new one?

owww, poor you, my poi seem to liek hitting me in the nuts, when i do the butterfly occassiopnally they decide to collide right in the centre and they always seem to wanna go in one direction, straight for the nads, oh well at least my poi are clever

err, all poi go straight for the crutch from a butterfly collision,i think. i've had a couple of harware burns, and i got myself in the shin with the top part of the wick (the bit that attaches to the chain) from the set i bought from here.

i lost a bloody tooth last week! wacked me straight in the side of the head and CRACK....one tooth gone...it was only when i spat it out and saw what it was that i thought..hmmm that rather hurts!

This is one my favourites. Performing on a beach in Barcelona for drunken english tourists (a stereotype yes.. only finns can do it better) of which nobody even bothered to look my way i guess. anyway, i didn't quite catch one of my staff throws and it sorta landed on my belly. i caught it from there and continued spinning when suddenly i feel a pain in my stomach and see that all the hair in my belly is burning! i quickly put it out and continued performing. didn't get any money but got a nice burn and a red belly.

last nite before the metal show that my friends asked me to spin at i was bored, and started playing around with my poi..having fun with the btb weave, and smack...right in the cheek... needless to say that move goes after my poor skull more than any others....i find that trying to isolate the buzzsaw goes after me' bits and pieces more than any other move..

I've strained/sprained/done something to my wrist... which is just... rubbish.... i've been forced into a period of rest and recuperation as it's a little difficult to do any trick when your wrist won't bend....
damn sporting injuries....

I burnt myself the otherday. Although my bad luck meant it was while i was making breakfeast not actually firetwirling, and bieng on the back of my finger i can't twirl untill it has completly healed.

playin with my flamin devilsticks... i was doing this sort of horizontal spin that comes kinda close the the face.... I inhaled at the wrong time... as the fire was going right under my nose.... I don't suggest trying to inhale flames via the nostrils... spells out a bad day.
I'll get there too late if I shorten my stride, I'll get there too soon if I find me a ride, I'll never move forward if I try to hide this path that I've troden one step at a time.

that happens to me too TONS mate...i give my poi NOTHING but love and affection and care and this is how they treat me! i'd rather have thick good natured poi than clever evil ones! the ONE time they decided NOT to crack me in the nuts they hit me in the side of my face and i lost a bloody tooth! lol

also the one time ever i've burned myself using fire equipment was with juggling torches several years ago. I was light them in the wind and they were taking a while to light with my zippo. then the zippo went out and i went to strike it again and the wheel was so bloody hot it took the skin off the side of my thumb, Years n years of fire experience taking utmost care not to do myself an injury and i burn myself on a bloody lighter! typical me that. I burn myself cooking lots n lots...and every time i think " jesus heat HURTS, i should stop playing with fire!" lol
in a simlar thing to the lighter story...I've been a fast bike nut since i could walk and since i was 17 there hasn't been a period of more than a month or two that i haven't had at least one bike on the road (I'm 37 now). Couple of years ago I broke my ankle falling off a scooter and was talking to my ma on the blower a few days later and told her about the accident. She said "SEE Andrew I TOLD you motorbikes were DANGEROUS. Maybe you will listen to me and not ride em no more!" I had to tell say no mum, wrong kind of scooter....I'd fallen off one of them silver push scooters kids play with all over the place, it belonged to the lil gal next door. My own MUM, who is supposed to LOVE me no matter what, unconditionally, laughed her bloody head off so much she started crying! She's orrible lemme tell ya, orrible! hehehe

ow, both m shins are covered in bruises after my unicycling attempts. My hands are also covered in cuts (I can count 11!) Mainly from grabbing on to things for dear life trying to ride said unicycle.
Usually I dont briuse doing poi, even after hitting myself in the same place repeatedly but last week i got my first poi bruise in a year!

I have a nice bruise on my forearm now from landing wrong after I get hit in the face with a plank in one of my routines for the show. Ow.

My Inner thighs were bruised from trying to ride a friend's Unicycle.I bought my own,and my saddle doesnt hurt as much.Still cant really ride it yet.But ill get there.
The hair on my arm and body are never the same lenght due to body transfers and wraps.
