Tip number 2:
Start a new thread n the staff section! biggrin

I would help, but I don't really do staff (Which is why I'm a bit confused as to when I got you hooked...)

I'm waffling, ignore me ubbrollsmile

o yeah and be religious about ur twirling ull learn heaps faster

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourself, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous and talented? Who are you NOT to be?

Can I recomend to you to find someone to teach you the basics; you can learn on ur own using the lessons here on HOP, but it's so much easier and FUN to go thru this with a buddie.

First and foremost, learn movement. Figure out what you can do easily. Twirling the staff with your fingers, over the hand rolls, and just moveing with the staff and it's momentum. Get the feel first, then, when you're comfortable start with twirls like figure 8's and such. Like Ben-ja-men said, check out the HoP tutorial.

And don't forget that if you do something different to what someone tells you, or is in a tutorial, its NOT wrong, its just another move.

Try to develop your own style with help from others, rather than trying to learn what everyone says and nothing else...It's easier than you think with staff!

Here here, staff looks harder than it is. Myself, I'll tell people to start with the basics (points up) but don't inhibit yourself. Have fun, other wise you're not doing it right >^.^<
