Threeworlds is hosting a fire twilring competition on the gold coast.
The trials are on this weekend for anyone how is interested. The registration cost is only $35.
the finals are to be held on the 2nd of May as part of a feastival in Burleigh Park.

ok here are the details....
Three worlds are a beautiful firetwirling shop here at the Gold Coast.
No ben there are no seperate sections for poi and staff. It is for a group to put together a preformance
The comp is for two or more twirlers to participate in... as a preformance duo or a troupe.
There are two dates that are important. The 26th is the trial and the 2 may is the final.
35 dollars regestration and that needs to be paid to three worlds. their contact number is 0755330455
the first prize is 1000 dollars in vouchers for three worlds who stock wicked gear.
These guys are two of my best mates and are well worth taking the time to talk to even if it isnt about the comp... if it for inspiration and knowledge about drums and firegear you wont walk away disapointed.

Sorry Guys, we are not the most organised bunch in the world.
I am working on the site at the moment and had plan to put up a link and was distracted by some more demanding things, like PLAY!!!
So here is some more info. The trials have been post poned to the 24th. It is a Saturday night. The comp is on the following weekend. The 2nd which is a sunday.

So the details you need are below. Thanks and hope you can participate. PS The prizes are vouchers not cash, sorry to give people the wrong impression. But i am sure that $1000 in our store will make you happy!!!!! We stock a huge range of fire gear, juggling , glo, drums and percussion and heaps more. . . So $1000 in our store is actually better than cash!!! (ha, ha.. cash is king i know but this is Queen!)

Threeworlds is holding the first Fire Twirling Competition on the Gold Coast.

Who should enter?? Anyone who loves fire twirling and is above all creative. It is NOT purely a test of skill and speed, but includes team co-ordination, visual art,
creative choreography, working with music to create impact, and above all spirit!!!
Why should you enter? The aim of the whole event is to increase peoples personal appreciation for the art of twirling and to increase group coordination and to
raise the fun factor! Something to get excited about!!
Is there any second and third prize? Well it seems like it would be a fair thing. After being asked this question we have decided to add a second prize of $200 and
third prize of $100.
How long do we get? Each act has a maximum of 5 minutes!!! In that five minutes you can use what ever toys you like and alternate between group members as
much as you like.
Who's the judge? There will be more than one judge, and they are yet to be selected. What they will be judging on will be team work, choreography, skill, etc.).
But mostly it will be the overall show & impact on audience.
Where's the trial to be held? The trial location is yet to be finalised. It will be open to the public to come and watch, so you can bring your family and friends
along.

We wee thinking to do the trials on the friday before the comp on sunday.
This would hjelp people from interstate. ONe trip you know...
And all the other entries would have more time to practice and from what i have heard would love an extra week... What you think chicken??

Jase from three worlds has asked to to let you all know that the trials will now be held on the 30/04/2004 at 7.00.
the finals are then on the sunday the 2/05/2004 Please be aware that this is so the interstate participants only have to make one trip...

Trials are cancelled. Only the finals apply!! starting at 7.00 pm on sunday at burleigh park right next to the surf club.

was chatting to some mates, and some of the newcastle crew were interested, but didnt have a way of geting up there.
was idly procrastinating in HoP Chat yesterday and gnor [i think] mentioned it would be cool if the competition was videotaped. itd be cool to see it.

Yay Thanks to three worlds for having orginised such a wonderful night!!!
we had so much fun and it was fantastic to see the level of talent that traveled from all over the country to play!!
there were 6 teams that ended up competing
4th= culture... a group of 12 year old kids that did stick and poi and capioera (sp?) They were great and all won a meal at the indian resteruant here at the coast...
3rd= arsn and valura... yayayayayayayayayayay we came third and we are stoked! was so happy to come anywhere! there was some damn talent there... we won two hundred dollars at the luffly threewords...
2= liquid phire... steve and also pyrotix came together in a fire spectacular... we were most impressed! amazing talent all of them! 500 dollars at threeworlds
1= amanda and rubin....seriously guys this was the most amasing performance I have ever seen.Amanda has the most beautiful soul and spirit energy and it totally shows in her twirls..! it involved contact and a very flexiable wee rubin who picked up the staff with his feet and arched his back until it was touching his head....... WHILE DOING CONTACT!!! It has to be seen to be believed, and I think that Puk is going to put it on the site soon enough kiddys!! The set told a story of awakening to fire and I loved it to biddy bits they totally deserved to win...
arsn and I espically want to thank elke and bec and puk and the seal for coming to watch and play and hang out... was such a beautiful night... special thanks to the seal for his big heart and patient support while we freaked out, and to flynty for calming me down. I love you all

Just like to add a huge thanks to everyone who performed at this most fantastic event. In it's humble beginnings, there we such a great spirited display of absolutly awesome talent. Every act was so unique and hard to actually announce one being better than another as they were all so good.
We are planning to do a bigger better one in maybe as short as 6 months time. So watch out site for more info closer to the date. Thinking of starting a newsletter to keep people informed. So if you wish to be on it, just email me and we will put you down.
Also need to just confirm the prize money, now that was $1000 - 1 $200 - 2 and $100 - 3. Sorry chicken.... You all deserved more and next time we are going to hit up some more sponsers for prizes... I was going to put up the video files some time in the next couple of days, on our site so you can have a watch. I might even do that today.
So yeah congratulations to everyone, and look forward to doing it again soon!!
