Once I had a friend. I loved her but I didn't know how I loved her. I tried to explore that love with her. We made each other happy, then we made each other sad.
She was an inspiration. She was my muse. She helped me to write, to draw, to sing songs, to play with fire. So I wrote, I drew, I sung songs and I played with fire. But when you play with fire you get burnt. Whilst I wear no scars I was burnt.
I still regret what I lost, I expect I always will, but I regret more that I am the cause for my loss. I have lost more than that friend. I have lost what surrounds her. Other people who I met through her. Things I discovered through her. Places I discovered through her.
She was a part of my life and will always be a part of my heart and my memory. Whether she knows it or not, whether she can believe it or not in light of my behaviour, I wish her well.
I want her to have love from the people around her.
I want her to have happiness.
I want her to have peace.
I want her to have growth.
I want her to have warmth.
I want her to have comfort.
I want her to have an open soul.
I want her to have friends.
I want her to have sanctuary.
I want her to have fulfilment.
I want her to have what her heart desires.
She is the most amazing and exceptional person I have met and I hope she knows how much I thank her for everything she has given me, done for me and made me.
I hope she can forgive my saying this here and now. I hope she can see why I felt I had to.
I have made some terrible mistakes that cannot be unmade but now that this has been said I will do my best to lessen whatever harm I have undoubtedly done. Now that I have done this, for me, I will do nothing because nothing is what is best.

QuixIt sounds like you're going through something similar I went through a couple of years ago. My fault, my loss, severe pain (and depression) and a major chunk of my life down the drain. It helped me write some good ole blues tunes but I'd rather have not had the experience to write about.
Now we've managed to become good friends again, it took time (well over a year) but the underlying fact that we were so compatable in the first place won through. We couldn't ever be anything more than friends again, which is ok (and I am now soo luvved up with someone else it's unbelievable anyway) cuz I wouldn't trade it in for the world.
I hope, like me, you learn so much from this it'll scare you sh1tless into not making the same mistakes again.
But don't get hung up on blame, you have a life to lead that will be fruitful of love...just wait and see
