that would be nice. Right now, I'm trying to think of ways to find a cheap flight to Europe at the beginning of Sept.

Have you tried Priceline.com? You might be able to score a decent price off them. Germany again?

I'm afraid of priceline these days. I've used them before, and haven't had any problems, but I have had horrendous layovers in the states and that layover was wayyyyy out of the way. If I'm flying overseas, I'd like the trip to be as short as possible.

Probably not Germany again, or at least not Berlin. I'd like to spend a few days in Amsterdam because I've got friends going then, but other than that, I'd like to see something new. I have no desire to see more of Spain, but am thinking Portugal, more of France, or possible Scandanavia. Don't know. Do you have any ideas?

Hey Gidg!
Are you near a phone now? You can give us a call now if you like. We're going to be heading out early tomorrow morning!
We were offered tickets to Brian Adams for tonight. We turned them down, lol.

I love productive evenings. I got all the pieces cut out and sewn together last night. I wonder why I kept putting it off for a few weeks. It was much easier to accomplish than my head had imagined. This weekend I get to sew the 5 rows together and add some borders so that I can get to the real fun party.

What have you decided to do today with Gidg?

hug for all of you!

That looks like it'll be a beautiful quilt!

We're going to hook up around 3 this afternoon. Going to bring the digital video camera, so maybe I can get Gidg to show me her polynesian dance steps and let me film them. smile Just for my own use, though.:p So I'll have a reference later when I try to repeat them.

We'll probably go for food somewhere. Have to see what Gidg is up for. Hopefully Myste and I can take her someplace nice! smile

Then there's Glebe this evening! Looking forward to seeing Ed and Rozi. Wonder if anyone's hair will get set on fire this time. eek wink

Hair on fire? oops! that doesn't sound good. What I hate is when I don't realize I've singed part of mine and then get a shock awakening when I take a shower. There is no hiding that smell...
there needs to be an ewwww smiley

Ok, so looking at the smiley list just now, I realized something.
This guy footinmouth is the "foot in mouth" smiley. I always thought he was the puking smiley (i.e. grossed out). Oops! redface

Yeah, the last time I was at Glebe. Some guy was somewhat inebriated before he started spinning!
Picks up his staff! Lights it to spin. Sets his hair on fire. Notices and pats it out. All while continuing to spin!
Crazy!

Oh, well, there's nothing wrong with putting yourself out in my opinion. I remember years ago one of the first few times I lit my staff (before I even knew Spitfire). A bunch of us were spinning at a party in someone's backyard, and it was my turn. So away I go. Then all of a sudden, I realized my left boob was on fire...well, the shirt covering it. So what do I do? Start spinning the staff with my left hand off to the side and I put myself out with my right hand. I had 3 towels boys at the time, and all of them were rather dismayed that they couldn't be the ones to put me out. ubblol

well, it was only my second or third burn, and we can be overly cautious here (which is a good thing in my opinion).

I've only ever burnt myself with breathing! Only once when I was about 12. (Yes! Very very very stupid). Self-taught then. Which means my teacher was an idiot! And even then, I was very lucky. Only took off the eyebrows and eyelashes, and some skin. Nothing permanent.

Holy crap! That means I've been doing this stuff for over 26 years! You'd think I would have smartened up by now!

N.B. Actually burnt myself twice. The second time when I was about 19. To impress a girl. Bloody fool!

ubblol That time didn't actually burn me. I just lit my top. I've only ever gotten myself twice, and each time very, very small spots that left no scar. The first was on my back, just above my pants line. The towel person was oblivious to my screams of "ow, it's hot! Ow! It's hot!" over and over and me shoving my butt closer to him. I don't even recall the second, so it obviously wasn't traumatic or stopped me in any way. biggrin

26 years! That's longer than most of the Hoppers have been alive. wink

Darn! And I left the sarongs where I'm staying. Actually I think that we should be taking a vid of Patrick doing the hula and then publish it. biggrin

And I'm learning to juggle!!! Well I can do five catches, I'm told that I won't really be considered a juggler until I can do six catches. It shouldn't take long but now I have to get some juggling balls, I left mine at home. I could have swarn I packed them.

one of our friends, steph, set her boob on fire a couple of weeks ago. one of the lads was quick off the mark though and was already gladly patting it out before she noticed.

we were out busking for a chernobyl childrens charity at the time.

got a great applause from the audience biggrin

Hey Valura! We got our parks mixed and it took over an hour and a half to find Gidg. Luckily I spotted her as she was walking down Glebe Point Rd. We got her food. And then the rain started. So we went to a pub. We were joined there by Ed. Good time was had by all.

Hey Dunc! Everything is great. Although with my sunburn I look like a lobster!

Hey Lisa! I hope someone continues to inspect that boob for any lingering fires. You never know when it might be smoldering for weeks! wink

I'm actually surprised that we found eachother. I mean, we were on the opposite side of the road and I was not paying any attention to the people on the other side.

It was great meeting up you guys after talking with both of you for a year and a half.
