Favorite Author/Book: Ann McCaffrey and the Pern series. My imagination can run wild. I see myself now; fighting thread on the back of a flying fire-breathing dragon, purple of course.

you know... I keep forgetting which thread I'm in... so I blissfully and admittedly, quite ignorantly, plough ahead, taking any old thread (and I don't mean that in a disparaging way, gidg) into places it probably doesn't want to go...
see...? now I've written a paragraph... and by the end of that paragraph, I've got no idea what I was trying to say...

speaking of which... something similarly absent minded happened to me at work, today... twice...
I was sitting in my chair, tapping away at the keyboard doing something disappointingly work-related... and I had a thought... turned around to talk to hover-man (my boss) about it... and by the time I'd swivelled around in my chair, I'd forgotten what I wanted to say...
and this happened, as I said... twice...!!
I don't think I can claim to have a goldfish memory with that kind of carry on... cos their memories are somewhat better than that...!!

The little room that is the airlock is a "sacrificial" space - the air in it is "sacrificed" to space/the sea and then once they've gone out the door the water/space is pumped out and the air pumped back in.

As much as I would love that, I don't want to mess anything up with my being able to come back...cuz if I overstay, it can affect my chances of being able to get that permanent visa...and I don't want anything to mess that up...so I'm gonna be a good little girl and go by the rules...
