Posted: Niice! There's a fire-spinning world record attempt for charity going down on this Sunday night - be great if you can make that! (https://www.facebook.com/events/340861966006752/?fref=ts)
If you can make it, be sure to register on their web page (link is in the event description I believe).
Otherwise, not entirely sure about all the regular meetups in Sydney, but Circusoc at UNSW meets up every Monday on the Physics lawn from 5-10pm for all things circus-y and usually a burn, regardless of holidays. (https://www.facebook.com/circusoc?ref=ts&fref=ts)
I also know that there's a group called Newtown Jugglers that meets up every Wednesday night, and I'm pretty sure there's at least one or two poi spinners and staff spinners who go there. (https://www.facebook.com/NewtownJugglers)
Also probably worth asking around on the Facebook group for poi spinners (if you happen to spin poi that is lol) (https://www.facebook.com/groups/189779111046713/)
Hope this helps a little

Posted: Sounds fun The charity thing is tempting. I haven't spun with fire in years and I don't have my kevlar poi with me, just socks and pendulum contact poi.
Can I get some decent ones here in Sydney or is there any possibility of loaning a pair from the event holders?
Thanks for all the info
Will probably go to the physics lawn this monday and see whats up^^

Posted: No fire poi with you? Arg that suuuucks! I know the organisers are making a tonne of fire staffs so that peeps without gear will have stuff to spin around, but I don't think they're making any poi
There's a slight possibility that someone there might happen to have a spare set of fire poi, but idunno
Still, if you don't mind staff I think it's definitely worth rocking up to and meeting up with a whole bunch of spinners
