Posted: Ok Gad knows if this will post... I'm flapping like a pigeon!
I'm Anya, in Ely, Cambridgeshire. 24 years old - last time I checked I was 20... CRUD WHERE DID THAT GO?
I'm an Open University student and I probably shouldn't be messing about on HOP, but here I am...
My hobbies: I've had a few toys, but staff just grabbed me... So I grabbed it, and it proceeded to hit me over the head repeatedly as punishment for trying to control it (yes that's right my staff is alive and sentient, and has a bad temper, as far as I am concerned - we have a special relationship, me and that aluminium stick... and NO YOU CAN'T TOUCH IT!)
No, in all honesty, I had a wee go at staff at Play festival 2011, I LOVED it! But there was a man... there was the magical Play atmosphere... the fire shows... I fell in love... I left my husband for said man... And then there was another woman... But I think most you ladies probably know where this leads so I will spare you the horrible details...
The result is I have spent the last year in hell: my confidence, my job, my home, my health etc have been shattered, but now, over a YEAR later, I am FINALLY taking my life back by starting OU study and picking up that hitting-stick... PHEW!
So I'm here.
I am interested in all things staff, especially contact.
I have the following opening question:
I stay on a boat with no TV, no internet etc so have hardly had any outside influence with my staff. I've been watching some videos online today in Ely library and it seems to me a lot of people, even really talented people, are all doing the same things. And already, I have noticed there is something that I do, that I can't find anywhere...
So should I try learning moves that others teach, or carry on in my own little bubble and see what comes out?
Oh, and I like Vegemite, Marmite, AND Nutella. EDITED_BY: Annieanya (1349444498)
